OK, so now NVC tells me I should go ahead and send the documents into NVCMontreal,state.gov.

My question is regarding the Subject Line of the e-mail. Do I just put the MTLxxx number in or should I include what form I am submitting...MTLxxx - I864 Paperwork?

Also, does the body of the e-mail need anything specific?

I have the I-864 and the DS230 ready to send in.

I still haven't received the confirmation e-mail but, since I was told to go ahead and send this stuff, I'll live on the edge and try it.

LPR since 2003 and will be applying for Naturalization soon. Currently working on I-130 for my son.

Case number in the subject line. The body of the email needs to have the petitioner and beneficiary name, date of birth and email address.

There is some debate on whether to send the document emails (I-864 and DS-230) to NVCMontreal@state.gov or NVCElectronic@state.gov. In another thread people are saying NVCElectronic@ is the correct email. Can anyone else confirm this?

You also need to send them as two separate emails only after each bill shows as "PAID" on the payment portal. Pay AOS fee bill, shows as PAID, send in email for I-864 with documents. IV bill shows as TO BE PAID, pay it, then when status shows as PAID, then send in DS-230 with documents.

You know what? I would send the emails to BOTH email addresses. Normally I wouldn't recommend something like that, but in this instance, while NVC is clearly working the kinks out of their system, I think it's a better idea to send it to BOTH addresses than send it to one or the other. Just cc one of them.

As for the original question...the case number is ALWAYS first. I would always put a subject line about what documents are being submitted AFTER the MTLxxxxxxxxxx case number. For instance: MTL2009###### I-864 and Supporting Documents.

Hope that helps!

I thought the debate was squashed after you read the country specific pdf file over at

http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4411.html

Select the casefile number thingie, download the pdf file, have a read? FWIW, this was changed up this year.

I agree with you Darnell and NVCElectronic@ is where I sent my documents, just trying to save someone from sending it to the old address as was the case in the original post in this thread.

Interestingly enough, we called in to the NVC this morning to see if they had the AOS package I emailed over two weeks and they said no (going to research it). We had emailed it to nvcmontreal@state.gov and they confirmed on the phone this morning that is the correct email addr to send it to.

Wish they'd make up their minds!!

Yes. This is why I'm recommending people send it to BOTH addresses until the mess is cleared up. I've been saying for over a month now that they're obviously having some procedural difficulties with the transition. Hence...play it safe and send it both ways!

And hope they don't get confused which one to use! wacko.gif Just sent mine to both..I'll let you know what happens. Starting to think I should have gone the regular snail mail route with these complications.

Wyatt.and others,

Thanks for the replies.

I just received the confirmation e-mail from NVCElectronic. It did say to send docs to NVCElectronic. The CS person at NVC had said NVCMontreal.

I have sent off the I-864 and DS230 in seperate e-mails. I sent to both e-mail addresses.

I'll let everyone know which address responds. Finally got the ball rolling again.

Thanks Again.

EP has been an option for Canadian immigrants since early 2009 I believe. Glad it sped things up for you. I don't that it's been rolled out for any additional countries though.

Congrats on your approval!

dealing with the phone doods -

when you get a human, ask for a supervisor.

usually, the first person you talk to WILL NOT HAVE proper access to the right screens.

The supervisor, thankfully, does.

Ya, Chile was the alpha testing site.

Then China was brought in.

Then Canada.

Then some other post, where it's NOT OPTIONAL, but Mandatory. (Ashgabat)

It's at a standstill, for now - no new countries added, yet.

I monitor this page - http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4411.html

if / when a new country is added, it's in the drop-down list there.
