I`m filling out the DS-230 and got stuck in question #32. Ok, so I listed all the jobs I had so far, but I have no idea what to answer when they ask "In what ocupation do you intend to work in the United States?"... Because I lost my job last year when I got pregnant (I was new at the job, so they fired me) and now I work as a full time mom, so I have no idea what my ocupation is going to be in the US. Yeah, I`ll look for a job, of course, but how am I supposed to know in what ocupation? I just want a job that pays me enough to pay my bills and go to school, THEN start my career as a nurse.

I would really appreciate some advice here, because I have the feeling there`s a catch in this question and I don`t want to mess it up. :/

Thank you!

If you are going to go to school for nursing, then you would put student, if you are already licenced as a nurse, then put nurse... They are not going to come and check to see if you are actually doing what you said you would like to...

If you are unsure of what you will be doing (as many of us were) you can put "UNKNOWN" or "TO BE DETERMINED." I put "UNKNOWN"and had no issues. Good luck.

Unless you have a firm job offer in hand, I suggest "To Be Determined".
