Oh and i forgot, for the medical at Medisys, they don't ask for "passport" pictures. I only took 4 pics in a photo "machine" in a shopping center, as long as they are in color and the background is white, i didn't smile on it just in case, you're ok! I called twice at Medisys to ask that question about the pics, talked to 2 different people, and both told me the same thing! So no need to spend big money for passport pics for this :P

Thanks AandB for the info!

I just called Medysis because I was freaking out a little about the vaccines. The guy told me that if there were missing vaccine in my 'Carnet de Santé' they would give them all to me, and I would have to pay for them.

I called my CLSC to get a tetanos booster, and see if I can get an appointment before the 21st of May. I had to leave a message which is extremely annoying! I bet you 20$ they won't call back! Anyways, at least I know I'll be able to get it there if I don't have an appointment with the CLSC.

I'll be calling at around 4 o'clock to see if I have an interview date. I'll keep you all posted!

Ken an Kate: so was the Fed Ex enveloppe from the ambassy???

Wishing, I hope you're having a good visit with your fiancé, how long is he here for?

And also, you posted a question about vaccinations, and to go along with it, I'm wondering this:

If you are missing vaccines from the list, do you need to get your personal doctor to give them to you, or will the doctor at Medysis give it to you???

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to pop in and say hello...my fiance leaves tomorrow :crying: At least we're officially waiting for an interview date...also just made a quick call to DOS, no interview date yet...really as expected for now...

In any case going to go enjoy the afternoon with my honey :luv:

Have a great start to the week guys....any day now interview dates will start rollin on in!! :energy:

Hello,

I'm nearing NVC approval and I've started reading this thread because I'm wondering what to expect once our case goes to Montreal. From what people are saying, it sounds like it takes them some unpredictable amount of time to issue the interview date. What phone number do you call to check up on this? I'm familiar with the automated voice system for the NVC but is there a different one for the Montreal consulate?

It sounds from the ongoing discussion that they issue interview dates in "batches". How often does a batch get issued? How do you know when the batch has come out?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Jeremy, the number is 202.663.1225 Press 1, then 0 to get right to an operator who can then check on your MTLblahblah case's status. :)

Luckily the FedEx package wasn't from the embassy! It was for a duplicate copy of a magazine I put together with photographs from my time in China, I didn't realize I ordered two copies, lol. It's funny how little inconsequential things start that negative cycle of thinking :P I tried calling today around lunch, but it just rang and rang. The whole office must've gone out for some poutine or something :P

I plan on bringing my yellow immunization booklet thingy, as that's always been completely up to date. Won't hurt to get a quick doctor's appointment beforehand to make sure I'm current with shots, though, since from the sounds of it Medisys/co can charge you.

There is actually a thread specifically for IR1/CR1 folks here

It is a bit different than the K-1 visas interviews (that most the folks here are waiting for). The folks over at the other thread could probably give you better information for your situation.

Thanks. I will check out that other thread too as we are getting an IR1 visa, not a K visa.

Cheers,

Jeremy

Hey guys, I have my medical tomorrow and they want me to bring my Packet 3 letter with my name and i guess your "suppose" to bring the part where is says your case number, but my case number was on the checklist I sent back. I did photocopy the checklist for my own records and for this purpose, you think I should take it, or will the packet 3 letter with my name be fine?

Alaba:

Bring your P3 and your file number. You should be fine. The woman I spoke to when I booked my appointment letter said she needed the case number. If you have the NVC letter from your fiancé, you could bring that as well. I'm gonna bring the entire P3 with me and the NVC letter, it should be good like that.

Wishing:

Yeah, Montreal needs to hurry up before we all have panic attacks! Hopefully Friday will bring some good news! We're so close now!!!

Thank you so much for posting a review of your medical! And I think I remember when you guys' interview date was set up, wasn't your fiancé over for a visit?

Wishing:

Yes, I'm calling every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at around 4 (that's when I get off work). I will call on Friday even though Chris will be here. I should be able to get online afterwards since he's bringing his laptop. Can't wait!!! It's driving my insane! I'm looking at the calendar and trying to guess a date, and then looking at flights, etc... I just want to GO HOME!!! I miss my dog!!! (Well, my fiancé too, and his family of course!)

Alright let's keep each other posted!!!
