Hi everyone!

So I just came to two conclusions today: First one - and sorry for the sexist remark - but women make way better phone operators than men do. And second, it's Friday for everyone and you can sense the irritation in some - male - operators from DOS!

Haha!

Well, you guessed it, no interview date yet :crying:

That's ok! Keeping positive! Will go spend my frustration in some intense cleaning of the house rather than eating my emotions! Which, by the way, can help burn 200 calories! The cleaning that is, not the eating.

Alright, well have a good weekend ya'll and let's try again Monday.. :clock:

Hey peeps, got a question about affadavit of support:

We are using a joint-sponsor who has 5 in his household, which the poverty line for 5 is $32, 237 and he made $35, 000 last year, and the years before over $40, 000. He has no mortgage as his house is paid off. Do you think they will accept this or not?

Alaba:

Well, if he definitely makes the necessary amount for a household of 5, you're ok. Don't forget to include yourself in that number too. Also, gather evidence of savings and what not. I'm not expert on the subject, so maybe someone with more knowledge could have a better answer...

Hopes this helps! :star:

Good Morning everyone!

So I figured I'll call Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week... Last batch of interviews were given around the 16th of April, so hopefully we'll have news this week... This is getting hard waiting around for interview dates when we're so close to the goal! It feels longer than even before!!! Oh, well, let's keep positive!

Wishing, I hope you're having a good visit with your fiancé, how long is he here for?

And also, you posted a question about vaccinations, and to go along with it, I'm wondering this:

If you are missing vaccines from the list, do you need to get your personal doctor to give them to you, or will the doctor at Medysis give it to you???

Ahhhh, I hope someone has an answer for me!!!

Have a good week everyone and I'll keep you posted tomorrow, in case I do have an interview date.

Hey there!! Good luck this week! Im hoping you guys will get your interview dates by the weekend!

As per the vaccines, if you are missing some, they will give them to you at the medical at Medisys, but you could save money by getting them done ahead of time by a regular doctor.

Another week gone by, another week with no P3 action :( The operators always get my hopes by saying "Yes, it's been logged" "REALLY?" "Yes, it says here they mailed you your packet 3 April 1st" "... I've already mailed it back to them. They've received it, but I'm wondering if they've LOGGED it into their system?" "Oh... nope. Not yet." "Ok. Thanks." ://

At this point I'm starting to feel some doubts about whether or not I filled everything out properly. On Friday FedEx tried to deliver me something, but I wasn't home, so it will be re-delivered tomorrow. I'm hoping it's not related to the P3, but I have no clue what else it could be.

Oh well, at least Monday will bring some answers!

Ken and Kate:

Gosh, I hope it's not something related to your P3... I don't know, but I would think the embassy would send something via regular mail (cheaper) don't you think? Maybe that can bring your hopes up! I'm no expert though, I hope that my gut feeling is good on this! When I was logged in the operator said "you are elligible for an interview date, but non has been set yet"...

Good luck this week, keep your chin up!

Oh! And thanks Kizza for the reassurance about the vaccine!!! You're full of comforting information!!!

Hey everyone, I hope everyone had a good weekend. Each day that goes by is one day closer to ending this long journey, so that's a positive.

I have my medical on Wednesday in Toronto, so whoever is after me I will sum up the process for us, for reassurance :P

And one quick question, I don't know about you guys, but to get my vaccination records from my doctor has been a hassle, so after much bickering (they are so lazy) I finally get it tomorrow, but they are not going to print out a record, they are just going to fill in a Immunization Record card. It's a small yellow panflet that says Immunization Record, and the vaccinations documented will be hand written, do you guys think this will be fine?

That's what I'll be bringing to the medical. From what I understand, the panel physician will then fill out a form indicating that I had the required vaccines or that I received them that day.

Hi Alaba, I'll be looking forward to hearing about how your medical went in TO. I'm going to be going there shortly after.

I'm not to sure about the Immunization record card, I personally don't have one, so my doctor just printed out a list of all the shots I have had since birth and then signed it. Hopefully it will be good enough!

Let me know how it goes :)

I heard from a lot of people that the vaccination booklet (carnet de santé), if you have everything you need on it, will be enough for the medical. That's what im bringing tomorrow at Medisys. Also, I needed a tetanos shot, so i called the CLSC where i live and got it for free the next day. It saves money from doing it at Medisys!

Good luck for this week, hope y'all will have your interview dates!!
