It can take anywhere from 3 to 5 months to get your NOA2.

As for the documents for NVC:

I-864 Affidavit of Support:

Last 3 years tax transcripts

Last 3 years W-2's

Letter from your employer

6 months of paycheck stubs

Immigrant Visa Application:

Long form birth certificate

Police Report

Copy of Biometric page of passport

2 passport photos

Original divorce decree(s) (if applicable)

When you get there, you can view Leng Che's shortcuts in the guide to help you get through NVC faster...

Unfortunately, it's a long road from here. Being prepared will help you get through faster.

Hi Newbie,

First of all congrats for ur NOA1....It will take min 3 months for the NOA2 and Max is 5 Months.....Chk the timeline of other people who filed 1 or 2 months before u to get the prediction on ur case...That's what I did.....Probably in around 2 months time start gathering ur docs for the NVC process....U should have, for DS230 - Long form Original/certified Birth Cert of the beneficiary, 2 PCCs ( RPO and Local police) which normally take 2-3 weeks to obtain, Original Marriage cert.....For AOS - Last 3 yrs tax returns/W2s, Last 6 Months Paystubs/Bank statements, Letter of employment of the petitioner....Hope this help....

dont want to be a spoil sport, but thought you should know that you could possibly wait 5+ months for an NOA2... some ppl have been blessed and recieved the NOA2 in about 3 months, but I would think that would be few and far between for India, I would say realisticly you can expect an NOA2 in 4-6 months...

As far as what documents... here is the link to the LingChe guide:

Study this, as this will be your key to s fast NVC journey :P

Good luck! and Happy waiting... this is a great time to start a new hobby or pick up an old one... otherwise you will be pulling your hair out from the waiting
