Just checking my forms before i send my packet 3. Found a notice on the US Embassy London website. that the old DS-156 Electronic form is now obsolete and you now need to send the DS-160 instead, the old form wont be accepted. Has anybody else seen this.

Cheers

Warren

I can't tell you anything specific to London, but I was told that Kiev still requires DS-156 for fiancee visas, and DS-160 for everything else

If you check the list on the Embassy Website, K-visas are not included for the DS160.

double check about DS-160.. I thought the same when I click on the link and it route me to DS-160... but after doing some research... it's showing DS-156 still exist; so i'm sticking to ds-156...but my case is in HCM.. so you're might be different.

good luch.

cheers mate.

I was confused about this one too.. the K1 visa process seems really bizzare, at some stages it is treated as a non-immigrant visa and others an immigrant visa..

The london website says "Nonimmigrant visa applicants applying for a visa are required to complete the new DS-160."

However, the table of non-immigrant visas does not include the K1.. so i would assume the london embasyy are treating the K1 as an immigrant visa, even though it is not really.. Its all very confusing.

I recently sent P3 and did not include the DS160.

Ljubljana : The U.S. Embassy introduced a new online nonimmigrant visa application form – the

DS‐160 on February 15, 2010. This form will become mandatory for all non‐immigrant visa

applicants submitting an application at the U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana beginning April 1, 2010. All

applicants for nonimmigrant visas who schedule visa interviews on or after April 1 will be

required to use the new form.

DS - 160 replaces three previous forms, (DS‐156, DS‐157 and DS‐158) and eliminated the need to

determine whether supplemental forms are required.

BUT when I access this website https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ The American embassy in Ljubljana isn' t even an option to choose.

WHAT ? !

U.S. Embassy Consulate in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia *DS-160* As of February 15, 2010, applicants for official visas (category A and G) and crew members (category D) are required to use the DS-160 web-based non immigrant visa application, with all applicants required to use the form by early March 2010. This new application replaces the three forms that made up the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF).

FWIW, we just did the DS160, just to be safe, and it does *specifically* have a section for K visas. The Rio consulate's response when we asked was kind of vague.
