I have learned my lesson with this f'ing class! I gave up for tonight. I'm watching Pirate Radio and making a list of stuff I need to do or buy before I leave. Only 12 days left. I'm getting tired just thinking about all places I'll be going on my "vacation". When I get home I'm going to need a vacation from my vacation.

this is the assignment he posted tonight. i almost cried. i really thought i was done :crying:

For each major literary period covered by the course and our textbook (The Romantic Period, the Victorian Age, and the Twentieth Century), explain the significant characteristics of the dominant literary movement (Romantic literature, Victorian literature, and Modernist literature) and explicate how 2-3 representative texts from that period possess those characteristics.

Hey guys I sm just a bit depressed tonight. I don't think I can ever carry a baby to term. And, I actually want to. How did I go from 100% focussed on my career and never wanting one, to this? And suddenly realizing I left it too late. Fricking sucks to be me. Anyway, that is my vent for the night.

Explicate? Sounds like a poser to me, this mountebank with his inane sophistry. :P

Romanitc literature was, I seem to recall a reaction to the industrial age and emphasized the pastoral and sentimental in direct opposition to the idea of rigid structuralism and industry that was befouling our nature and our environment. Blake depiction of the downside of new industrial age in something like Jerusalem is most indicative. His use of the term "dark Satanic mills," along with the overall allusion to the Romans is starkly contrasted to the first few lines wherein he talks about the, "Holy Lamb of God." The contrast seems to foment this idea that a false materialistic messainism has taken root in society. The clear Romanesque imagery of "Arrows of Desire" and "Chariot of fire," not only brings to mind the Romans and Appollo but also the railroads and their steam locomotives, the new chariots that are powered by fire. The idea of the Sword destroying the green and pleasant further reinforces this inage as does the double entdre engender by the term, "our clouded hills," which can mean England's foggy atmosphere or the smoke belching forth from indutrial operations, polluting the air.

Sorry, that's all that I can think off right now.

I've been doing some more vacation planning. I only have to book stuff for Amsterdam, Paris, some Greek island (don't know what one yet), Madrid, and St Tropez. I am going to be vacationed out! I won't want to see another plane for years!

btw my mom is an idiot. she thought frankfurt was in spain :lol:
