It's been 20 days since I received my NOA2 and I am still waiting for NVC to receive my file from USCIS

Anything over a few days, and you probably have been flagged for additional processing at the NVS. I am in the same situation with them. It seems to be a more in-depth background check, but there is no way to know for sure. You have to call and talk to a real person to find out if your in the "additional processing" status, since their automated system does not report on 'K' visas. They won't tell you anything more though. After waiting for the NOA2, now we have to wait another 2-5 weeks for the NVS. It's really frustrating.

OMG Ted just got off the phone to NVC and we now have our new case number so I can book the medical WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO And OMG OMG it was sent to Sydney 2 days ago Bwahahaahaha can you tell I'm excited?????

I filed April 1st and still no word on the NOA2. Looks like the Haitian earthquake really slowed things down this year, especially for those filing from the same island (my fiance is from India but living in the Dominican Republic). I pray we hear something SOON...

Yeah, are you talking to a live person or just the automated system? My file was sent to the Embassy in like 21 days or something but, the whole time the automated system said that NVC hadn't received my case. It wasn't intil I talked to an operator on like July 10th the operator was like yes sir, we received your file on June 29th and are processing it. So, if I had never called I would have never known. My case was shipped to the Embassy on the 19th. I still haven't received anything in the mail or email about it being sent. Thank god I called. I even asked to speak to a supervisor just incase. it was sent the following day after I talked to a supervisor. I just told the supervisor hey, you operator can't tell me anything about why my case is taking over 20 days. The sup didnt give me any more info than the operator but, it shipped the next day after that.

That really bites JVF - only thing I can think of now is ringing USCIS and finding out what the problem is.

You defiantly have a different problem. Sorry to hear that. Wonder if you can get the VCS to resent the paperwork to the NVC.

Greeny, Ted rang one week after the email date of the NOA2 and got the updated info of our new case # and that it had been shipped to Sydney on the 19th.

Number to call is 603 334-0700. K visas are not put into the automated system so you need to speak to an operator. Their hours are 7.30 am to 12 midnight EST. The best times to call to avoid a long hold are 7.30am or between 7 and 9 pm. Ted went straight through at 9pm so we were stoked You need your USCIS number, both parties names and both parties dates of birth to get the info you want. Good luck and let us know how you go

And to Ryna, Kenny and the others still waiting - I'm thinking of you. I know this wait is stressful and draining but I promise the joy when you get NOA2 will so be worth it. Massive hugs and good vibes for you all.

It could mean almost anything but mostly it means they know you exist!

Hello everyone.....i don't know if its a silly question but i'll still ask just the same...do we need to wait for the NVC letter before my fiance send me the documents (i-134, divorce decree, etc.)....do we need the nvc notification letter later on in the interview? medical exam? needs some enlightenment..thanks
