Complications in China for wife who changes her name?

All:

I am engaged to a Chinese woman who has an interest in taking my last name. She now has two names and when we get married would like to take my last name as is often common in the US.

We have located forms that would allow her to change her name on her Chinese passport; however she is concerned that when she travels back to China as a Chinese citizen and US permanent resident she will still be expected to have a national ID card, that would not match her passport.

If you are a Chinese couple who's spouse took the husbands last name and has since traveled back to China I would really like to hear your suggestions.

-Is there a form I have not found which allows a Chinese citizen to change their name on their ID card to a western last name?

-If so, where can I find this or at least what is the form called?

-If not, have you or someone you personally know had any negative experiences due to this?

This is a simple fix, just don't change the name on the passport. My wife has my last name on everything but her passport and chinese id card. But if you have to change her name... Get the id card and passport changed in china, the passport will be far cheaper and much easier to change the id card... if not the only way. But I still don't understand why she wants your name on her passport. Women in china never change their name and having an English name will be harder for ppl to say and cause her to stick out every time she is back home.
