Hi Coralie - I read your thread yesterday and I hope you're feeling better today. I will say some Ohms for you ... :star:

But re: Need You Now ... My husband has apparently set that as my song for his ringtone when I call him and I heard it today for the first time because he asked me to ring so he could play it ... and I don't like it ... :bonk: He was crushed.

I like listening to Massive Attack and Portishead. Teardrops and Glory Box are my favourites.

I feel a little more positive about things today, the congressens office called me back and explained what the procedure is now.. hopefully we hear from them soon!!! As for feeling better?? HAHHAHA No, too much wine...uggg. At least I have a raging headache to distract me from my immigration woes! :bonk:

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

I found this song quite comforting

Hey there Delilah by Plain White T's

Hey there Delilah

Don't you worry about the distance

I'm right there if you get lonely

Give this song another listen

Close your eyes

Listen to my voice, it's my disguise

I'm by your side

And Dave Loggins Please come to Boston

And she said, hey ramblin' boy, why don't you settle down

Boston ain't your kind of town

There ain't no gold and there ain't nobody like me

I'm the number one fan of the man from Tennessee

We have a disk that the Vietnamese photographer made from out traditional picture day. There are a mix of Vietnamese and english songs on it. From May of 09 till December 09 when I went for Doans interview I watched it every single day. Not once did I watch it without tears, but they were tears of happiness.

One of the songs is "I see the church I see the people" wedding song.

Love the Lady Antebellum song, but one that says it all for me is When I'm With You by Faber Drive, love it love it love it

Saw you walk in to the room

Thought i'd try to talk to you

Babe, am i ever glad you wanted me to

Its been two years to the day

half the time I've been away

I know I'm not there enough

but that's gonna change

cause I'm coming back

to show you that

I'm keeping the promise that i made

When i'm with you

I'll make every second count

cause i miss you, whenever you're not around

when i kiss you

i still get butterflies

years from now,

I'll make every second count

when I'm with you

yeah we've had our ups and downs

but we've always worked them out

babe am i ever glad we got this far now

still i'm lying here tonight

wishing i was by your side

cause when i'm not there enough

nothing feels right

so i'm coming back to show you that I'll love you the rest of my life

when i'm with you

I'll make every second count

cause i miss you, whenever your not around

when i kiss you

i still get butterflies

years from now

i'll make every second count

when i'm with you

when i'm with you

Seriously, someone posted the song Hey There Delilah by the plain white tees? I'd rather get stabbed in the eardrum than listen to that song. That band should be sent to prison for their crimes against society.

Now now.. if thats what works for them, thats all that matters. I like a variation of music.. punk rock, country anything goes.

My hubby emailed me a song that he listens to often when he needs a moment

Rob Thomas : Her Diamonds

( I was born on a diamond mine, so I think he is connecting the dots that way), eitherway, it is a very pretty song. Thank you guys for your input, Ive had the opportunity to youtube some of these songs and found a few new good tunes!!!

I know how that feels Bernie... my wedding DVD is all scratched up and over-used.. I watch it once a week bawling my eyes out!! My hubby looks sooo nervous and freaked out in it. All throughout the ceremony he looks like he's gonna pass out, and then when the JP said "I now pronounce you husband and wife.." he suddenly let out a sigh and said "Oh thank god..." Its TOO funny, I laugh and cry every time I watch it!

That was me and I get that a lot ;-)

Should we ever meet in person I shall get you a nice cup of tea by way of weasel apology, however for me that song will remain ever special!

Thats so sweet! I'm sorry for all the problems you're having with your immigration, but it sounds like you are a very strong woman in a very strong marriage and thats all you need to get through this! Good luck!!

"When September ends" by Green day - meant a lot to Don and I throughout our dating phase... Sept was the first month we spent apart after meeting....another Sept several years later was the last month before our K1 interview in Mtl.

I couldn't go anywhere without hearing this song...grocery shopping, on the radio, the video on Much...you name it. Makes me sad now, even though I'm sitting next to him in the basement

"Hey there Delilah" was sweet too....

Hi Everyone,

What an interesting question, indeed! I agree, songs help us get through the tough times, and we can all find songs that make us all happier, then why not? :)

Hmmm...Let's see...Off the top of my head....Here are is a song that helped me get through the tough times...

Celine Dion » That's The Way It Is

I can read your mind and I know your story

I see what you're going through

It's an uphill climb, and I'm feeling sorry

But I know it will come to you

Don't surrender 'cause you can win

In this thing called love

When you want it the most there's no easy way out

When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt

Don't give up on your faith

Love comes to those who believe it

And that's the way it is

When you question me for a simple answer

I don't know what to say, no

But it's plain to see, if you stick together

You're gonna find a way, yeah

So don't surrender 'cause you can win

In this thing called love

When you want it the most there's no easy way out

When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt

Don't give up on your faith

Love comes to those who believe it

And that's the way it is

When life is empty with no tomorrow

And loneliness starts to call

Baby, don't worry, forget your sorrow

'Cause love's gonna conquer it all, all

When you want it the most there's no easy way out

When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt

Don't give up on your faith

Love comes to those who believe it

And that's the way it is

When you want it the most there's no easy way out

When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt

Don't give up on your faith

Love comes to those who believe it

And that's the way it is

That's the way it is

That's the way it is, babe

Don't give up on your faith

Love comes to those who believe it

And that's the way it is.

Lol...Actually during our LDR days, my husband and I used to make CD song mixes, that reflected our relationship. And we would listen to them when we were together and when we were apart. It sure helped the time go by, and it sure made us something to think about in our relationship too.

And one of those CDs we ended up using for the background music for our wedding day...(L)

Anyways, I hope that whatever songs you use motivate you and help you get through the tough times.....

Happy music listening!
