I 864 and DS230 Help

Hello VJ Members,

I have a question? Completing I 864 and DS 230, my wife doesn't have middle name?

What should i write in middle name space? NMN, N/A or NONE?

Still waiting for NVC Case number.....When should i call them?

N/A or None either is fine.

I got my NVC case number assigned after 4 days. Each case is different though.

"NONE would be appropriate. You can call NVC whenever you like but it might take just a little longer. Doesn't hurt to call though. Good luck.

I write N/A too. I don't want them to think NONE is my middle name. They aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

Good point. I momentarily forgot that logic goes out the window when you are dealing with USCIS!

oh lord,help me. i send i 864 and ds 230 last week. avr says document received on march 30. and when i talked to operators ,they all says is under review and give us 10 days/3-4 weeks....but when i asked do u guys received my i 864 /ds 230,they said it suppose to received give us 10 days/3-4 weeks ....but no one says yes or what document received. what should i do? tell me friends. should i keep calling...

I wrote "NONE" too, and did consider that they might think that's his middle name, but I figure they are just a bit more perceptive than that...but who knows! We haven't gotten the visa yet, so we'll see if it's for Bob None Pinheiros or something!

It says in the directions to write either N/A or None when applicable. So for example, until SSN I wrote "none" as it's not that the question is "not applicable" it's that he doesn't have a SSN yet (so, none!). It's the same thing with a middle name, he has none, so I wrote none! But to be honest, they aren't going to deny your application because you wrote N/A instead of None, so really it probably doesn't matter.

When we get to the US I'm going to change my name (like my mom did) to be "first name, maiden name, husbands name". So when forms ask for my middle name, I'll write my maiden name....which is exactly what my mother has done since she was married 40 years ago. So, if you've legally changed your name to "first name, maiden, new last", then yes, your maiden name is now your middle name. HOWEVER, when it asks (I think on the G-325A) if there are previous names you've gone by, you need to write your name as it appeared on your birth certificate!
