NOA 2 confusion?

So my husband called the NVC number yday to see if we have a new case# yet..thank god it was there. Our NOA2 was sent to my email on 25th march saying the application had been approved. Now we have the new case# i thought we could call and give them our email addys so we can do the DS 3202? Do we have to wait till we recieve the hard copy of the NOA2 first??

The lady on the phone said we have to wait upto 4 weeks to recieve something?? im so confused

Keep calling the AVR. Should be there in about 5-7 days from your NOA2. Then give an operator your email addresses.

the lady said we cant do nothing for another 4weeks so she didnt want out email addy. So i was wondering do we have to have the hard copy and how long should it take to get it because im am confused at to what she is telling us to wait for.

also i dont know where i find that thread as you already posted on one of my posts before and i couldnt find it. Im not to good on this forum

Just call again and speak to another different operator. Tell them you'd like them to update your email addresses/phone numbers.

Are you eligible for electronic processing? I assume that's why you gave your email addresses. If you are eligible for EP, then after you give NVC your email addresses, they will send you a few emails, one of which is the AOS bill that requires online payment, or alternative. However, if you qualify for electronic processing, then once you get your case number assigned, you should send the OPTIN email (see wikie on nvc) with what's required in the body of that email plus include a .pdf of the signed DS3032 (choice of agent). If you don't have electronic processsing, then I believe you have to wait for the hardcopy information to be sent to you by NVC. They would be sending you the DS3032 and the AOS bill.

It's exactly the same process only that one is done completely and entirely in electronic format, and the other gets processed via postal service. The EP should be faster, and according to an email sent to us by NVC, it could be up to 70% faster to process than would be via postal service.

I know that many countries don't have the EP option.

Germany doesn't have an EP option.

Irrespective of that, you NEED to give them your email addresses to start the process.

They will send you the AOS/DS3032 links in your email.

No, EP is where everything is sent electronically. Even the packets are scanned as PDFs.

Only China and Canada have that option, apparently.

The rest of us have to send it in via postal mail.

It'll be really good for the Dept of State to have EP in every country, or at least as many as possible. I guess that's a process that may happen in future. I know Canada was added in only June 2009 but I'm grateful for that. It's a fairly new process and even that is going through recent changes, I'm told.

Everytime I called the NVC, I always had a chance to talk to operator. On the day I got my NVC case number, the operator not only gave me the NVC case number, but he also asked me our email addresses.

Call them and tell them you would like to give them your email addresses...we got our email for the 3032 a couple of days later, they sent the email to me and my husband and also the email telling me how to pay for the AOS. I hope this helps. The operator I got at NVC was very nice and helpful. GOOD LUCK

Mine was one of the first EP eligible cases in Canada, and I can safely say it was the most frustrating thing ever!!! Nobody knew what was going on, where anything was, or what button to push. I'm to understand theyve ironed out the bugs now, but sheesh, it was draining to deal with. A donkey cart would have been faster!
