Hey, I sincerely appreciate your help. However, I don't appreciate treating me like an idiot.

So, let me restate what I said initially, and instead of assuming fault or stupidity on my part, just let me know if I should have gotten the return receipt by this time.

I have sent the I-130 concurrently with I-485 for an AOS by certified mail. In order to get a return receipt, it is required to have delivery confirmation (which includes signature confirmation). So, through the prerequisites of a return receipt (i.e., checking online), I know that USCIS received my March 28th-sent package on March 31st. However, to this day, I have not yet received the return receipt (a physical copy which I requested).

So, has anyone else requested a return receipt, and if so, should it take this long to get it when it only took three days to send the package?

Thanks, and I do appreciate any and all help!

That's weird. If you requested a return receipt, you should have gotten it. It's been plenty of time for you to get a receipt.

Why don't you ask to post office?

Hope everything goes well.

Ah, ok, I will go inquire when I get a chance. It will be strange if they do not have it or I get the NOA first.

Are you only filing the I-130? If so, I don't think you require a Civil Surgeon document. That is needed for the I-485.

Anyway, looking at the I-130 petition cover letter, everything is covered and it looks great.

Looks good but you are missing a copy of his passport biographical page.

When is your appt with civil?

Call the post office.

I didn't think I needed to since I said I requested a return receipt, which would make the type of delivery a moot point.

Does she need it if she includes the birth certificates? I thought it was an "OR" clause...

You are very correct in terms of the I-130... No civil surgeon needed.. the input of your Filed for status would help

it says in the guide section:

A copy of the intending immigrant's birth certificate and/or passport along with English translation. (If in any language other than English) Is it better to do both?

I see the civil surgeon the 16th at 1:45pm. Once we get everything from the DR. I will mail the I-130 and the I-485 together. I figured I may as well just do one big package with everything and just relax :)

Nice! I wish you all the best with a doctor and hopefully you won't need any follow-ups (I needed one for blood test results and vaccine). So you could join us on this rocking nervousness boat :)))

P.S. Regarding passport, I am such kind of person that during collecting papers , if it was optional I included (especially as my case is not so perfect).

Good point, since we are in the same boat I may as well add the info it can't hurt. Hell I am adding in a 4 page written Islamic marriage contract with a million sigs on it... talk about adding everything...lol

*hands Alla a life vest* Lets hope the boat stays afloat :)
