Hello again. how would the mail be sent by the way? just regular post mail? registered? by the USCIS. talking about the letter response like NOA/receipt etc.

It will be regular mail, folded and all, lol. If you get a package, that usually means they sent the whole thing back.

would you received the EAD first or the interview notice? And if after you have been approved in the interview and stamp your passport. Could you apply to SSS already?

Sometimes EAD comes first,sometimes interview letter. Recently very little people received EAD before interview.

As soon as you will have your green card approval letter, you can go and apply for SSN and after for ID and DL.

Hey hon, sorry to hear about ur RFE... they suck... Try to hurry and collect your evidence and make corrections accordingly.

Unfortunately, the story of my life is that everyone who filed the same day as mine has already gotten and did their walk-ins and people who filed up to 4 days after me got their letters. This sucks huevos...

Did the walk-in Biometrics today even though it was scheduled for May 27th! I hope the fingerprints were ok and the interview letter and EAD will come soon! Good luck to the rest of you =)

Well I got the RFE through the mail today

It was regarding the I-864 we submitted. My husband has 2 jobs, one of which is a taxi driver (self employed) and in which he only started in Nov 2009. USCIS have asked for fed income tax returns for the most recent tax year for this (we did submit his tax returns for his other job). The problem is that he doesn't have income tax returns as he only started as a taxi driver in Nov 2009 and won't have income tax returns until the end of this year. Does anyone know how we submit this to them? Do we just write a letter stating this? This has also had a knock on effect for the 125% poverty guideline thing. I may need a joint sponsor as they have obviously not taken his taxi earners into effect when working this out.

I'm a little confused. it's my understanding that taxes for the 2009 year were supposed to have been filed by April 15 2010. Why hasn't he filed his taxes yet? Is it different if you're self-employed? I know my husband had all his W2's just after January and we filed them ASAP...

Phew! Got my Biometrics letters today (I-765 and I-485) and both were dated April 29. Appointment is set for May 27 but I can't wait for three weeks to do it! I'll do a walk in by the end of this week =)

Does anyone know how long it will take to receive the physical EAD card? My OPT ends in mid-June and I would loath to not have an EAD while waiting for one through AOS. Anyone had any luck with expediting the I-765??

Not every state will trust the letter approving your GC. Just ask Astrid! She had to wait for the physical card because there was no photo on the approval notice. The website says you can use the letter but she found out she couldn't. Didn't take long for the card though so I think she's happy now

Also, Iowa (my state) doesn't allow it either.

He only started working as a self employed taxi driver in Nov 2009 so he doesn't have any taxes to file (for his taxi job) until the end of this year.
