Thank for all the info!!!

Its good to know about all the biometrics info. :wow: Wow you were lucky that u were first on line from the ppl who actually were not scheduled for that day!! Just wondering so if you they open at 8 (I see the closest office to me does, i think thats the one they will send me 2.) what time were you already waiting there? like 7? I guess getting up at 5 am and being there like a hour early would be a good idea. Because once they have the biometrics the case can move on so that makes it quicker I think, right?

Good to know about the EAD and SS i am really waiting for that because we really want to get car (even though you dont really need one in NYC) but its definitely nice and more convenient to have. Not to mention I am waiting for my greencard so we can travel, we would love to take a nice vacation to Puerto Rico or Hawaii! :D :D

Ohh thx for the kinds words, I can kinda read it. Im actually half Polish, half Ukrainian but mostly studied in Poland. But thats all neighbors wit Belarus. hehe

:ot2:

Yea I was kinda worried about the overstay because its been 5 years already. But I heard most people are overstay are dont have any problems.

Thx for all the useful info!! :D :D (F)

I think 7 o'clock is too early. I got there 15-20 minutes before 8am and there were already a lot of people (may be 20). But as NY is a busy city than you decide.

I just was happy that I was the first one with different appointment date.

It saved me 2 weeks.

My husband is Ukrainian (L) Well...good luck and let me know when you ll get a bio letter! :)

Don't forget to bring 2 IDs and marriage certificate (if you changed your last name).

Hi just a question.. i also filed mine this april. although i didnt yet include the medical exam. Would that be okay? I was told it wont be ask till the interview. So i send first the initial AOS packet. Thanks :)

If you didn't include I-693 than it most likely you will receive a RFE. I doubt that they will wait for the interview, but things happen.

Why don't you get it ready now just in case?

Yup im already preparing the form. Because they ask for vaccine record. And i dont have them with me. And I called the clinic. It will take days for them to analyze the blood work etc. So I decided to send first the initial documents :)Thanks alla.

Oh yea the medical form did take a while to complete, remeber you need a USCIS civil surgeon to complete that and give it back to you in a sealed envelope. I dont know how many you have in your area but they are not all equall. Some really dont mind making a pin cushion out of You and giving you everything at once just so they can take more money from you. I had some family in my home country send me a copy of vaccines I had, i traslated them myself and went to the civil surgeun and he signed off that all my vacinations are complete. Idk if everyone is like that but I was glad he didnt give me unecessary vacines.

WHen he tested me for TD the skin test came out positive (prob becuase in the country i grew up in we had TD vaccines given so i had it in my system) I had to get a chest XRAY which came out normal and the civil surgon signed off on my form.

Also idk if they will charge less now USCIS doesnt require that they test you for HIV virus anymore.

Yea took me like a month to get those together with the docts and getting documents from my country but i sent it all together and praying not to get any RFE becuase that all slows down the process. I filled i130/i485 concurrently

well hope it helps :P

oh yea really busy city! My husband needed a new SS card cuz he lost his so in order to avoid the lines we got up at 6am and were there at 7, i think it opened at 730, one of the 1st ones there and it took 10 minutes. If we went around 12-1pm we would prob spend 3-4 hours because the lines are huugggeee :bonk: !!! So i will prob try to be there atleast 30 min prior to opening and keep my fingers crossed. 2-3 weeks to wait for a biometrics appnt is alot!

I think the later in the day you go the more backed up they get and the longer you wait.

all such bureaucracy, dont even get me started. I dont know how other cities are but all these govt offices in NYC are horrible! They work in slow motion and when you ask a question all they can say is sit and wait someone will help you...and they redirect you to someone else who doesnt help anyway... this is wat taxes are payin for...:bonk:

OMG!! :wow: $600?!?! thats crazy!!

I think i paid around $100. Yep try to go to them with the vaccines, try to translate them (type it up wit name all the info to make is seem official)and see what they say. Prob having a certified translator translate them would still be cheaper than gettin those vaccines done. I would prob ask around and try 2 or 3 docts see what they say and the price they quote.

Good Luck! :)

Try to collect everything fast and you won't loose much time. I guess you will be even because of your early biometrics.

Krys & Nova, Congrats!!
