Same here... They cashed our cheques on 4/30/2010, but I did not receive any email confirmation (even though I filled a G-1145).

I called USCIS this morning inquiring about our petition, our file is not in the system yet. We were instructed to call back on Wednesday to verify the email they have on file. Hopefully I will have my 797 in hand and will have no need to call them on Wednesday. I hope this is not a sign of things to come :crying:!

I've got my first NOA today. Yours must be on the way, too.

04/22/10 AOS sent

04/25/10 AOS received in Chicago Lockbox

04/29/10 USCIS e-mail notification of acceptance

04/30/10 check cashed

04/30/10 can sign in to see the updates on my case

05/03/10 NOA1 received

05/04/10 I-485 touched

05/24/10 Biometrics letter received (dated 5/20, mailed 5/21)

05/26/10 Walk-in biometrics done

Hello!

"Touched" means USCIS were working on your application/petition that day.

I'm nervous also and can't wait for the interview letter already.

Good luck to you! (F)

argh I forgot to fill out that form for them to email or text message me. I remember seeing it but once I was putting together that huge i-130/i-485 package all together I forgot. So i see in your time line you mention your application was touched? what does that mean and i wouldn't get those notifications by mail right?

Also how does that walk in biometrics work? Im waiting for the letter but once I get it I can just go the next day and wait in line and hope they take me?

Last question: Does anyone have any information on whether I can get a social security number when i get EAD card and can i get a NY drivers license with that? We want to get a car.

Its hard to wait patiently but I hear that this process has gotten much faster that it was a couple of years back.

I considered going to agency for help wit filing it all out but spending $500 seemed not needed.

Slowly, we got all the papers together :)

I wrote all explanations and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will not get any RFE!! :D

Thanks in advance for all the Info.

Good Luck to Everyone :)

I just got the biometric appointment letters. But the weird thing is I have got two of them and they are exactly the same. Anyways what is the next step after the biometric appointment?

That has been the case; for some reason, people are gettin two letters

Don't know. I got my biometrics for a office that I did not want. Gonna try my chances taking the biometrics in a different state like some people have had success with it. See how it goes. Definitely don't wanna reschedule. I'm sure yours in on the way. Hang in there.

Ok hon. keep us posted and all the best...

Got the NOAs for the I-485 & I-765 applications this very minute

That's one less thing of the list now

After I received the NOAs I checked my status online only to see that they require additional evidence for my I-485 application :bonk: The RFE letter was sent to me on the 30th April, hopefully I will receive it today or tomorrow. I wonder what evidence they require?? I was 100% certain I had sent everything that was required. Now my case is on hold until they receive my evidence...nightmare :crying:

As I said "touched" means somebody was working on your application/petition. You can check your forms online (I do every day) and see whether it was touched.

You can put "email" and "text message" option next to your forms on web site and you will receive notifications. But not for touches.

Right next day (some people the same) you can go to the biometric center (preferably right before they open) and wait in line. I was the first one (with the other date on NOA) that's why they let me in. The guy after me was sent home. It depends on their busyness and mood I guess. Even if they will turn you down, you can try again.

As soon as you get your EAD you can apply for SSN and after getting SSN to apply for license.

I compared to our timelines to filers in 2008 and 2009 and we are truly moving really fast.

I also on overstay.

All the best to you!! :luv:

We got two of the same documents too, but if I remember correctly, one is in regards to work, and the other is in regards to travel. So, IMO (I could be wrong!), you get two at the same time if you filed the I-131 (travel) and I-765 (work) together with the I-485 petition, but since the number/record required for your biometrics is the same reference, the papers are essentially the same. The lady who did our biometrics took one and crossed the other one out and gave it back to us.

Thank for all the info!!!

Its good to know about all the biometrics info. :wow: Wow you were lucky that u were first on line from the ppl who actually were not scheduled for that day!! Just wondering so if you they open at 8 (I see the closest office to me does, i think thats the one they will send me 2.) what time were you already waiting there? like 7? I guess getting up at 5 am and being there like a hour early would be a good idea. Because once they have the biometrics the case can move on so that makes it quicker I think, right?

Good to know about the EAD and SS i am really waiting for that because we really want to get car (even though you dont really need one in NYC) but its definitely nice and more convenient to have. Not to mention I am waiting for my greencard so we can travel, we would love to take a nice vacation to Puerto Rico or Hawaii! :D :D

Ohh thx for the kinds words, I can kinda read it. Im actually half Polish, half Ukrainian but mostly studied in Poland. But thats all neighbors wit Belarus. hehe

:ot2:

Yea I was kinda worried about the overstay because its been 5 years already. But I heard most people are overstay are dont have any problems.

Thx for all the useful info!! :D :D (F)
