Our interview was 45 min. Basic questions of how we met, and the I-485 questions. Went over the other forms.

The man said to us, I'll be honest Christine, it looks suspicious as you married 2 Muslims in the same community. I told him well there is only one or two muslim communities in Pgh. Over all the interview was good. I was honest with them about Majed. He asked me How do you know this man will not use you. I showed him all our couseling, and went over the Islamic contract with him. He asked if I had proof that my marriage was terminated in Islam, Which I don't. All the man has to say is I divorce you.. How can I have proof for that. I told him, if it was not Islamically ended the Imam never would have married us in the masjid. He said. Okay, let me investigate weither or not your marriage is islamically broken from Majed and then I will make a decision. He told us about how to lift conditions, and told my hubby he should get something in 2 weeks as a welcom letter. Or we would get a RFE about the divorce. They have the state divorce... I dont understand. God willing I will hear good news soon. Over all like I said this guy was very pleasant, he congratulated us on the baby. He also took the e-mail Majed wrote the other day.

I just spoke to my Imam, he told me not to worry about it. That no way can an Islamic marriage be preformed if there is still one existing. If I need proof, I am sending my Imam in the mail...lol

I just pray all is okay. I love my hubby so much, what will I do with out him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:/ Gulp! yes i agree that does seem strange... i didnt know in Islam you could get a divorce and get married again.

In the catholic faith there is no such thing as divorce, well there is if you go to the Pope and really prove that ur wife/husband treated u badly which is very very hard/nearly impossible.

Anyway me knowing nothing about the Islam religion, it seems common sense that u wouldnt be able to get married again by the ur religious person if u were not divorced. Especially since u had a letter from ur religious leader. I think he will research this and understand it, reread the paper work and proof u submitted, and Im sure u will get that Welcome Letter in 2 weeks!!!

just sux u had more waiting! But u made it all this time, 2 weeks will fly by and u will get that welcome letter!!

Ok, doesn't sound too bad! I hope they hurry up and finish the investigation so we can officially celebrate!!

I called the local office this morning to see why my application is still showing as pending when I've been approved. They took my case number and verified my name, told me that my GC has been ordered and it will be here within 2 weeks. Then she repeated a North Carolina address back to me and I'm like #######! We live in Buffalo, always have and we've never moved. She said she'd updated it back to the original address. I was like ok...then she called me back 10 minutes later and said that she looked me up by my A# and my address was fine, she must have typed a wrong digit or something. What are the chances of her bringing up someone with the same name as me? I'd say almost none. My attorney said not to worry as I have my I551 stamp but it's bugging me.

Catholic divorce is easy. you pay 5k and file some papers with your preist and bam done. I was catholic as was Lily and Jared's father. Every Abrahic faith allows for divorce. Nothing in life is perfect. Once you divorce and time has passed (90 days in Islam) you are free to marry whom you wish. Marriage is how families come about. so if people could not remarry, there would many single people sinning.

I know ppl who marry get divorced and then because of the Church get married by the JP.. No one says they are not a legal married couple.. or that they are legit. There is seperation from church and state.

hmm i havent heard about doing that in my community but Im not denying it, there is alot of corrupt priests and basically u can fix alot of things by throwing money at it... I agree with You, nothing in life is perfect. Women marry men, the men beat them or drink and don't support their families and still if the women divorces the men they go to confession and they cannot get forgiveness because they are at sin. So I agree this is not right, it maybe stops ppl form going into rush decisions, but like u said when things do happen u get separated from the church because u are looked at like u r a sinner. And at ur time of need the church should help u. I understand i had a very unpleasant expierience. Me and my husband got a civil, get my GC and we want to take a church wedding in our home country wit our families there. I went to confession here and the priest told me he cannot give me forgiveness because I am living with the guy but dont have a church wedding, even though I am committed to one person. But if a girl came in who sleeps around with tens of different guys a week who shee doesnt love and says she feels sorry for what she is doing she gets forgiveness... Oh yea thats real fair... right?

Well all religions have its faults, but its mostly because of ppls interpretations i think, I think as long as u are a good person and dont go through life hurting people and you talk to God and not some guy in a priest suit who thinks he is all high and mighty. It also depends on the priest because religious leaders should be there to support their ppl. I know a priest like that and he is great and understanding and keeps people coming back to church and faith.

Your religious leader also sounds like that, since he is happy to help and support you.

Anyway I think that after research the IO will understand the process, come on u guys are having a baby together!?! how can they possibly say that ur intentions 2 be together arent real? Well u were truthful and had enough evidence. After thinking it through and research on Islam divorce and seeing u are telling the truth Im sure u will get the welcome letter!

i am muslim but i do believe that good heart is what takes you where u need to go in all positivity

we all might not share the same religion but the one thing all of our religion agree on is that PERSON NEEDS TO HAVE GOO HEART, HELP OTHERS, NEVER JUDGE n believe inGOD

thats all you need as good n pure heart, we might from time to time be angry n have bad thoughts, but one thing we cn do is control our actions!
