Oh yeah I found now what is this after searching online. It's a mandatory thing for all males between 18-26 years old to get registered. They say it may help when applying for school or gov jobs. And as today is my 25th birthday so this paper is right. I thought first it is my GC but :S not yet I hope I get it soon. Just to feel relieved and everything is done with for a little while.

I just don't want any implication of this selective service during the coming year.

I got a "card production ordered email" this morning!!!

Long story (which I will share with you when I get home from work/school), but I guess I'm aporoved!!!

After all this painful waiting!

BTW, the I-130 is still not touched, even thou I-485 is approved? Wierd...

Yes! He's still in Afghanistan (till October 2010), and I just brought in all the originals of what I had sent them with our package.

The IO looked at them all.

ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT>>>

If your spouse is deployed, you HAVE to get his/her deployment orders from the base to prove they're out of the country.

Does anyone know how I can get my Passport stamped with 551 (GC approved) since they didn't make their decision at the interview.

I'm trying to join the army myself, but they need the proof from me that the case had been approved.

Can i just walk in the USCIS with a print out from my case updates with "Card production ordered" and they can give me the stamp in the passport???

Anyone done that?

You should try scheduling an infopass... Bring the proof that you've applied to the army and they might stamp you passport.

PS, you should be getting your GC in about 2wks since you got your production order.

So the thing is - it kinda bothered me that my I-485 says "card production ordered", but the I-130 remained untouched since May 13.

So I called the military line and asked why it was like that. They wouldn't give me any info on the I-130 because I wasn't the petitioner (duh, my husband is at war right now!!!)

So they only agreed to talk about the 485 application. Which they told me show up as "still processing" in "their system". Which system? I thought they had had 1 system. Apparently, not.

I had received an email, a text, and the online USCIS stastus is "card production ordered". the customer service rep told me that it wasn't correct, as my case is still showing as "pending". ANd he said that it might have been a mistake (the status of my 485).

A MISTAKE???

How do you make a mistake like that - to send out an email, a text and update the status online???

Anyone has any idea? I'm deeeeeeeply confused, angry and ready to climb the walls...

You were talking to the military, right? I think their info, and any other org, such as the SSA, are a little behind the USCIS. Those case status updates we get aren't official, but I don't think they are mistaken.

My I-130 is still showing that it is in Initial Review, but I received an official approval notice, on paper, about 10 days ago.

He is calling DMV today to correct the mistake. I swear, I'm not sure how my husband got through life without me !

Not calling you weird... Just USCIS! I think everyone has a lil weird side, I know I do (lol) !!!

uh huh sure lol...

They all like that lol.. hubby had account linked to an old address we moved from and it took like 2 months before he got it changed cuz I was up his butt... I tell ya lol

So our inbterview was at 2:15 pm on July 14th. We arrived downtown around 1:30 and parked in Horten plaza. I recommend this as do many becaus you get 3 hours free and can validate a a machine in the mall. We walked over to front street and proceeded throguh the security checks. Once insode, we found the interview office. It reminded me of the social security office. There are a few windows at in the front. One man took our appointment letter and we sat in the chairs and waited. there were other people there but only maybe 2 other couples. the rest were families or individuals.

My husband and I just sat in the lobby chatting, laughing and watching the people pass by out the window. He had to use the bathroom so he left for a few mintues. When he came back we waited about 5 minutes longer and an officer came to great us. Its funny because he came right up to us and said,"Mr.and Mrs. Asiedu?" We were like yes and he asked us to follow him through. We went to his cubicle and were sworn in.

He was friendly and funny. he verified our address, names and marriage status before we got married. he asked us how we met and asked to see the wedding photos. then he asked if i had any family in Ghana and I said not that I know of and he was like you never know maybe in your ancestery. We laughed a little and he gave us a slip that said to lift consition in 2 years. Then he asked to keep some wedding pics and said he was putting through for approval!

At about 4 am this morning i recieved the email that card production has been ordered! Great experience!! God is so good!\

were they hard on you or was it easy? you shouldve asked them if you cn have the stamp

the army needs people just go and show them you shld be ok ...if you need the stamp get an infopass, go in and get it done hopefully they will
