when you get your green card go back to them

when you get your citizenship also go bacK TO THEM

ITS OFFICIAL thaT IS THE RULE!

noth you are right

Sensii, I wasn't rude, I just said I don't care about this temp social. Girl, I would never talk to u in a bad manner. :luv: I already understood that by temp number she meant paper. :D

You're making a point here. I'm sorry that I've lost my temper. I just felt attacked and I tried defend my self. I shouldn't have done that, and I hope you all will accept my apologies.

But geee! I was just trying to make my point about how to get your SSN number before receiving the card in the mail. That's all!

I'm sorry I didn't express myself well enough so you all could get it first time. I'm probably more frustrated by not being able to be understood than anything else. Sorry again.

But I uploaded the documents i have, and explained myself in numerous posts, and I still have the feeling that you guys don't believe me. I'm so glad paulhmerrie came and confirm that the 2 documents exists and are different. After you apply for SSN you can go back there and ask for a printout of your SSN, you just have to wait until you are in the system (for me was 2 days) and take withh you the receipt they give the day yoou apply.

Please understand that I just wanted to help people in this thread getting their SSN by charing my experience, that is all. I'm not a warrior person at all, just that if i feel attack, then i have to defend myself.

Again sorry.

And congratulations @all of you that got approved at their interview!

good night

Nath

I appreciate that you are trying to help fellow filers. I understood this temporary/conditional/restricted card/paper thing (;)) from the beginning, since I already happen to have a temporary/conditional/restricted card (not the paper lol) myself. So I believe you :) and would like to thank you for answering my questions about the EAD.

With this SSN thing, it's NOT the case for everyone though. It varies from state to state so please can everyone stop acting like it's gospel.

The receipt that I received when I applied is completely different to the one Noth got. I am unable to go and get my SSN at the offices because it hasn't even been processed yet 2 weeks later. They are waiting on verification of my immigration status from Homeland Security. I thought this was the case for everyone, but evidently not.

My friend had a stokes interview and she told my hubby about it.. NOW he is freaking out. Sigh! All he said last night was, I can't lose you and our baby. He is not scared for himself but for me, he is afraid of what they will say or if they give me a hard time because of the high risk pregnancy, he does not want me to be stressed. At this point, I said I am being honest and I don't care if they like it or not, it is the truth and what happened.

I wanted to smack her, though. :bonk: She told him, "OH interviews I know about them mine was 2.5 hours!" He thinks this is the norm.. NO WAY IN HELL.

So apparently they went into the interview, and got separated asap. They video taped it and the IO's had laptops with them, started hammering them with questions about everything from family names, to who does all the shopping and how often they have sex. They asked both about her previous marriages of why they ended in divorce, to see if he knew the story (this was her 3RD time in INS and there is a 15 year age difference.. I told my hubby THAT is WHY they were separated!!!) They passed, but she scared the hell out of my hubby, well made him nervous. I told him we will be fine, INS can come live with us if they want proof!

I am so sorry about what's happening to you Jinxxabelle! this is so unfair!mad.gif

First, I don't understand why they need verification because the EACard is issued by homeland security! many people around here (the lady at SSA and the other lady at DMV) told me that EAcard is indeed proof of lawful presence. At SSA they just slide the card into their computer and saw it was not fake.

Are you living in a states with high unlawfull imigration? That would explain the delay, but still not why they have to check your EA card again! They are supposed to be train at recognizing fake from real documents....

Anyways, I'm really sorry that you are experiencing that, And I hope you'll find a way to get your SSN soon. Maybe you could print out some of the SSA rules on the internet (especially the one that says EAcard is good to get SSN and go back there and be on their back until they give you your number (if it was me, i would have done that). At some point they can not contradict their own rules?

Wishing you good luck and lots of patience

Hugs

I'm in New York State and my Attorney did say they have real big delays where SSN's are concerned and that they do indeed verify one's Immigration status before issuing an SSN. I've checked the rules on their website, it said this:

How long will it take to get a Social Security number?

We must verify your documents with DHS before we assign you a Social Security number. After receiving verification from DHS, we will mail your Social Security card. Most of the time, we can verify your documents quickly with DHS online. If your documents cannot be verified online, it may take DHS several weeks to respond to our request. We are working closely with DHS to reduce these delays.

Maybe wherever you are is a little more advanced. Thanks for the best wishes. If it's not here within a couple of weeks I'm gonna go to the offices and ask to speak to someone in charge. I want to get the interview outta the way first. Hugs!

Freaked out.

July 12 Made Info-Pass. They couldn't find my file, then when they did, they told me it had been transferred to the military unit, and they didn't understand why I mailed them my hubby's direct deposit account, so they didn't update anything. They guy at the military unit asked me a few questions, and told me he would make his decision within 2 days.
