The biggest obstacle to change, in this case, is the insurance groups and their power. They don't want their industry to disappear. Propaganda that the insurance companies make helps too ;) It's frustrating.

Yes. It is crazy thought that people are afraid of their own elected government will have too much power (which is something they can affect themselves) and still let huge corporations run the country.

ooooh ooh pick me!! I know I know!! (giggle) I tried to expedite my husband's AP through my congressman, and he was unable to because he said USCIS doesn't care about financial loss (even though that is one of their "emergencies")

HOWEVER, I got to find out when it was approved straight from the horses mouth (a congressperson liason from USCIS). The email I got said that from approval, EAD comes within 10 business days, and AP in 5-7 business days. And we got them within that timeline!

Hahaha! :) Thanks!! Wow, that is faster than I thought. That's great! I didn't get an email from some reason, but when I checked the website it said that card production was ordered July 8.

That was quick! Hopefully mine we'll be as fast, that would mean I'd get the EAD July 18 :) Something to look forward since my interview letter is MIA.

We get 1.5 years in Sweden and the same allowance, so I want to go back when we have kids. Not to mention, the free high-quality education (yes, even university is free!) and minimum 5 weeks of paid vacation.... What am I doing here again?! :)

Oh wow, sounds amazing

Congrats coco

Krys, I think we all question this country sometimes... We just gotta make the best of it, I guess

I got a huge surprise today. I received my EAD card. I never got any notification about it being approved or anything. I am stoked.

Woooot woooot, you go get that SSN....:dance:

Don't they normally touch your I485 about a week before the interview??? I only have monday left as a business day before my interview and still shows 5/28 update. Whats up with that? My assumption was if they look at it before the interogation day :), it is possible that they can approve it and even stamp the damn passport. IO will say OK we will let you know because it will be her/his first time seeing my folder... I hope I am wrong. They review it but not reflected on website.

5/8/12- I-751 Mailed

6/22/12- Early bio done, received 551 stamp

I think they went over it but "forgot" to update it. Like I said before, you should ask about the stamp but they try not to give it out anymore.

I didn't managed anything, when i applied on 06/21, the lady told me that it would take a day to get me in the system but that i could come after that to get a temp number. That is what i did on 06/23. They printed out a temp card. I received the real card within a week.

I live in Orange County California.

Sweden sounds great!!! How come u ever left? Lol

Yea I had relatives which went 2 wrk to sweden, the netherlands etc etc and they said good things. That they treat ppl equally and give equal money for the job. And since its from a country who are also in the european union u can legally wkr there.

Yea the usa is supposed 2 be this huge advamced nation but look how it treats its ppl? Cuz they say this is the land of the free, the land od possibilities so basically eaither u had insurance cuz ur really poor and u have the state medicaid or ur rich anf have money but the hard wrking ppl in the middle class barely tie up loose ends and u don't have money for isurance which is expensive. Or if someone gets really sick like cancer insurance companies have like a million dollar limit which is ok if u never have a serious disease but can end fasy if u have smthing serious. So half way u can end up witout insurance... Well now they finally changed that but ppl are resistant 2 change like u said because of fear and propaganda, cuz insurance companies make millions on ppl!!!

Lol and we get soo stressed bout gettin greencards cuz we wannna be here... Lol

Well hopefully this will change now that everyone will have 2 have insurance maybe it won't be so expensive.
