What is funny is after we left I told my wife that she was starring at my wedding band and she said oh that what she was doing with my wedding ring too!! so maybe they have their way of making sure that these people are really married couple and this is one of the tricks LOL,, so don't forget putting your jewelery on guys :)

That sucks! The ring my hubby wants he cannot get in his size.. He wears a size 12.25! The metal he wants is Triton and they cannot attach the sizer. Dammit, we gotta find something. We already returned 2 rings for him, they were either too big or too small. I guess he is just going to get a simple gold band and install the sizer.

Congrats to those with recent updates and letters.

Wishing those of you waiting for updates and letters good news very soon. I'm especially keeping in mind Alla and Nartaki who've been waiting a while for their interview letters. And Alanakaja. I hope it's all a mistake and you have a smooth journey in the end.

Good luck to Samurai and Dr No Man who share their interview date with us! June 30, 2010. Hopefully an auspicious date for us all.

We are leaving for the beach on Saturday and I'll be running around like a chicken with my head cut off for the next couple of days. I don't know if I'll be able to check in again before we leave.

We've had to move further east to avoid the oil so we had to scramble last minute for a house large enough for us (we are a large family of three generations - over 30 of us under one roof) and the only one available does not have internet.

We'll be driving all evening on Tuesday to get back to the area and all day back to the beach after the interview on Wednesday. I don't know if I'll be able to get online until July 4th, so happy 4th of July to everyone especially you new LPRs, and don't think I'm shirking if I don't post an update until then.

Good night.

Well we all sent you possitive energy luv. I hope everything went well and you were approved. Looking forward to your update.

Yeah, we won't have rings either. We had a civil ceremony with my friends here in NY, and are going to have a big religious wedding bash next year, and since the rings are a big part of the religious ceremony, we are waiting to wear them. We want to make the "second" wedding feel special, not just going through the motions, and that was one way I thought of to make it seem different (although I want to wear a ring now so badly, I want everyone to know I belong to him! :P) So I don't know... if I were an adjudicator, I would look for rings, but if people weren't wearing them, I would just ask. That's the right thing to do, right? If people were having a sham marriage, they would most CERTAINLY wear rings to keep up appearances, right? My father, for instance, never wore/wears a wedding band, and my parents are both born here and their parents too. No one ever said to them, hey you have a sham marriage because you aren't wearing a ring! I think we all feel pressure with this immigration to have the most conventional marriage ever, but we can ask ourselves, is there really such a thing?

So I think honesty is the best policy... if you are having trouble finding rings, that's not a crime, is it? To me, it'd look more fishy if the ring looked like it was temporary, you know? I MUST beleive that the IOs are people who will listen to our, and everyone's story. We are all just making ourselves paranoid! lol (yes, I do have the rings I want picked out, and I first thought, oh ######! I have to order them now now now!)

Yea this situation sucks. I already have DL and a SSN just need that GC so I can get a unrestricted SSN. Why would employers wait for you when there are hundred other vying for the same job. Oh well can't really doing anything about it. Sucks sitting at home and not doing anything. Need dolla dolla feel very broke right now.

Winonan, were you on F-1?? I was on F-1 and I was wondering if I need to apply for a new SSN if they approve the GC since they placed a restriction on my SSN card.. something about "Not Authorized to Work". Can't remember exactly the wordings and I don't have the card in hand now. If I'm not mistaken, you are getting the interview at Bloomington, MN right? Three days after me I think =)

Well its controversial... We had a civil marriage at the Justice of the Peace but still exchanged rings but its importance depends on one's own conviction and preferences. You can get simple nice, sterling silver ones for like $30 & up... But then again, its up to u

Okay, this forum is making me ill now... I guess it's my fault for oversharing, but what I was trying to say to Krys is that, other people have the same issue. I think Dr_no3's IO did look for the rings, but they won't deny a case on account of that alone! That'd be ridiculous.

I am just so sick of this whole process and am getting my american indignance on. I have a right to love and marry who I want. I have followed all laws to the letter. The end.

Yea I was on F1. Yea we need to apply for a new card that does not have the restriction. My original office was in Minnesota, but I moved to Wisconsin after graduation so my interview is in Milwaukee. Good luck on your interview. Hopefully we can get our hands on the GC soon, sucks having to wait.

One thing I have done not to get too worked up is to stop reading too many threads here. When I was preparing to apply and after that, I was surfing this site too much which was making me paranoid about getting RFEs and other issues. Once I got the needed information, I stopped reading other people's experiences. It helped a lot to calm me down. Now I only read this thread to check on other people's timeline. That's it. Its just my experience though.

The end.

ummm wow. I wasnt tryin to tick u off, just giving u other views and opinions. Ya wont get denied over not wearing a ring, like I said, people choose not too and its ok... gosh it aint that serious
