please do anybody have any problem sendind mail to the lagos embassy. i keep getting a reply with winmail.dat attachment that i cannot open. keep getting a reply from SMART Core <svcSMARTBTSRctSPrec@state.gov with Winmail.dat file attachment

12/18/07----I-130 RECEIVED

03/03/08 ---I-130 APPROVED AND SENT TO NVC

03/18/08----NVC RECEIVED PACKAGE AND CASE NUMBER ASSIGNED

04/23/08----SENT I-864 FEE THRU REGULAR MAIL TO NVC (SNAIL MAIL)

04/30/08----DS3032 APPROVED EMAIL REPLIED

05/01/08----NVC RECEIVED AOS FEES

try LagosIV@state.gov they typically respont in 2 days.

What tool are you using to open up your mail ?

use internet explorer and i had tried to open it on more than 7 computers

Winmail.dat files don't usually contain useful information. They occur sometimes because of a glitch.

Here's a website that provides an online viewer for winmail.dat email attachments. Don't expect much in the way of useful information though. It's usually garbled computer code:

NVC:

2009-09-11 - NVC received.

2009-12-17 - Case complete e-mail message, sign in failed on website and AVR... YAY!

2009-12-17 - Waiting for an appointment assignment...

2009-12-29 - Interview assigned: February 11, 2010!

2010-01-06 - Case forwarded to consulate.

Consulate:

2010-01-12 - Medical exam part 1 of 2 complete.

2010-01-26 - Medical exam part 2 of 2 complete. Ouchie!

2010-02-11 - Interview results: Administrative Processing 221(g) :-(

2010-04-27 - 2nd interview results: Approved :-)

2010-05-04 - Visa in hand!

2010-05-08 - POE
