Jamaica Police Certificate from employer

Hi there. My question is concerning a Jamaican Police Certificate. My fiancee has told me that the resort where she works gets police certificates on all their employees. The resort also allows the employee to purchase a police certificate on themselves for around $3000 or $4000 JD. I believe the police certificate comes from the Ministry of National Security in Kingston the same place she must go to get her's. My question is, can she purchase her police certificate through the resort she works at or must she make two trips to Kingston. Your help is most appreciated.

I think that would be ok - however I worry. My husband tells me that the certificate obtained for work purposes is different than the ones they give for traveling purposes. Do you have an idea what the certificate looks like that she gets from her employer?

Just a question, if they are different, then why would it be okay. BTW, your husband is correct, the PC obtained for work, is different than the one obtained for visa purpose.

You did it to me in my initial post and you just did it again to ATSLEUMAS. This forum is designed for people with questions, who dont know what to do. I am not talking down to you, I am trying to get you'll to think , I have seen many Jan deneid because they wanted to take the short cut, if you have spent any amount of time in JA, you will know that there is LOTs of fradulent doc's being sold and given out. Why would you want to even take this kind of RISK? If you wanted to do this correctly, then PLEASE follow the procesws, if you follow the process you will have a postive out come, if you want to take short-cut, then let me direct you to posts inwhich short-cuts were taken. Jamamica is the only embassy that does drug testing, JA is the only embassy that I have seem where the PC was sent directly to the embassy. JA is the only embassy where someone told a medical doctor that a friend smoked Marj around them, and the D5r. indicated that the person was exposed to marj the the embassy deined the visa. If you want to be in this postion, than please follow thru on short-cuts.

I want you to think, and not to get set up for failure, because as they say in Ja, no problem man. So if you think these people didn't get told no problem man.

The one thing we have found out is that the rules that apply to the Jamaican embassy, are not the same that applies to the others embassies.

Ask any Jamaican??????

Good advice LJ. Definitely right that Jamaica differs from other embassies. Actually, what I have learned is MOST embassies differ from eachother so to follow rules and protocol is for your specific is mandatory.

Things may have changed a bit- but the basics stay the same, however, my husbands PC was not sent directly to the embassy. We too wanted to take a short cut where the PC was concerned, but realized the work PC he had was not sufficient and it had to come from Kingston. Our new poster suggested his fiances cert DID come from Kingston. Its why we started a PM thread..

Hi Mlbarb

You have to purchase a seperate certification because when we went last week they ask if it is for local or overseas.. Local is for work and overseas is for the embassy and also carry your KNG# as they will ask for it when you go to do fingerprints on Duke Street. So yees please dont us the one from the embassy, would not want anything to go wrong with your paper works.
