I don't need to talk to anyone to know that what you wrote is ridiculous.
Actually, in this matter, you do, to confer credibility to what remains a sweeping dismissal without rationale other than "you're silly."
But by all means, please lets have a big display of ego on your part defending it.
Again, if you knew me, you would already know that no "ego" or "displays" are involved.
I didn't jump to a conclusion - your statement was not ambiguous, nor does it does it support multiple interpretations.
OK, then: let's alter the original statement to "In my experience, Survivors can have a high sensitivity regarding such matters."
I don't need to "know" you to comment on what you wrote. Don't be silly.
No, you don't (First Amendment, for as long as the Bill of Rights remains more than an inkblot), but please consider that sometimes a response (like yours) may say as much about the respondent as it does about the original message.

Interestingly, when I responded to your "hyperbolic" message last night, I was actually wearing a T-shirt that said "Hyperbole is the best thing EVER!"

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I "dismissed" your post. I don't "know" you. OK, so what? Boo-bloody-hoo!

You can't prove what you wrote, nor can you or have you clarified it. In fact the only thing you have written by way of a resposne is to hide behind your uncle in a way as to suggest that your "radar" comment amounts to some sort of consensus opinion for Holocaust survivor's understanding of modern day US politics.

It just gets better and better.

(There's an intelligent comment.)

OK, then: In the last 9.5 months (approximately), I have discussed various issues with 13 different Holocaust survivors. Unprompted, 4 of them volunteered their concern about the political direction of the United States. When asked what they thought, 7 expressed slight, moderate, or serious concern; 1 reserved judgment; and 1 had no particular comment. Eleven of 13 respondents expressed concern, which to me suggests a pattern.
It just gets better and better.
Si, man -- clarity is a wonderful thing, isn't it? Now, if you have data that conflict with the above, please elaborate. Edited by TBoneTX

What on earth do you think that proves?
More than you've been able to justify, despite your having been asked several times.
Find me anyone of the older generation who doesn't think along those lines.
YOU find them. It isn't up to me to prove your point. Furthermore, I detect a little hyperbole here, of the sort that you objected to originally -- except even worse, because you're stereotyping an entire generation, not just a tiny subsegment of them. Sorry if you rain-barreled on your own parade, Pardner.

Stereotyping. Riiiigghht. Tell me that again with a straight face.

You stated that holocaust victims have some sort of sixth sense about detecting the rise of totalitarian government (meaning - they are somehow more clued up about such things) to which your attempt at "proving" this is to suggest that some survivors you allegedly spoke to are "concerned" about the direction of government.

Genius

I have to say, I love how noone on VJ can ever admit that they are wrong in any regard - and so we have to be treated to these ridiculous displays of ego (yes friend, ego) to justify stupidity.

First I thought the comment was stupid (which is fine - because everyone says something stupid now and again), but now I'm inclined to think that YOU are.

At least I have not called anyone names. Refuse to back up your own points, and think what you like, Pardner. Oh, and by the way, please update your VJ timeline.
