Reduced-price meals

Oka,y so the wife and kids are here now. The boys started their 1st day of school yesterday. Now, the meals at the cafeteria are only $1.50 a piece. Based on my income, however, it looks like we'd qualify for reduced-priced meals (maybe even free meals).

Knowing that part of AOS is going to be proving that the kids have not become burdens to the state, I'm wondering if it would hurt us when it comes to AOS to apply for reduced-price meals.

I think ya answered your own question here....but then again, I'm no expert. Dunno how free lunch would be tracked back to your AOS, though.

So I'm guessin it's two boys? 3 bucks a day, 15 a week...it all depends if that's doable for ya. If it is, I'd just pay for the lunch to be on the safe side.

Benefits provided under the School Lunch Program are not taken into consideration for AOS purposes. You can see that yourself on the I-864.

Benefits provided under the School Lunch and Child Nutrition Program are specifically named on the I-864 as not being subject to the requirements of the I-864.

Don't feel that way. I only know that because I had a related question about the I-864 myself, and I found out the answer to OK's question a while back while looking for my own.

FWIW, I was wondering if federal student aid (grants or loans) were subject to I-864 requirements, and for the record, they're not, either.

What about Wig or whatever it is called? The stuff you get for a new baby as in milk,diapers and so on? Can we get that once we have a baby? Jim is above the poverty guidelines in Income,still like to know.Or is that falling under TANF?

Thought so too because their Income Level is 185% of the poverty line and for the K1 we only have to have 125%.
