Hi guys, I am February filer, but since everyone is approved already from February, and I was the last one to have interview, I thought I will write here my feedback on how it went since people are still waiting :)

We went through the security and came to the waiting area about 20 minutes before the interview time. By the time our lawyer looked through the documents and our wedding pictures, we were called in by a lady immigration officer. She was all smiley and looked like a nice person.

When we entered the office we had to raise our right hand and swear to tell the truth. When we sat, our lawyer advised the IO that English is not my first language (even though I speak fluently) so I need a little bit more time to put sentences together (since I was nervous!). She asked for our IDs, my birth certificate. The IO then started going through the I-485 confirming our address, name, telephone numbers and etc. Then she went through the "have you ever..." questions. She then did the same to my husband. She also asked me how did I support myself since coming here on tourist visa (May 2008 to May 2009 when I got married). Then she started asking questions about our relationship, where did we meet (I started telling her our story and she seemed to be confused, so I had to repeat and clarify it maybe three times and then our lawyer wanted to clarify it to her too, but she looked at my lawyer and said that the lawyer should not be answering questions (which she wasn't!) and that my lawyer's job is just to sit there (awkward!)! And then the IO wrote everything down what we said. Then she asked when was the next time that we met, when did we become exclusive, when did our relationship got serious, when did my husband proposed to me. As we were talking she kept writing everything down. She asked my husband when did he introduced me to his parents, if I met any of his siblings; if he met any of my siblings; also if we went to honeymoon.

Then she asked to see some evidence. I had everything organized in two folders, one where I kept all the originals and the other one where I had copies for the IO. So my lawyer just handed over the copies to her that were in the immigration folder and the IO started going through it and she looked confused as to what was where (so I told her: this is the renter's insurance, this is the agreement and etc). She skipped through utility bills and wasn't happy that BOTH of our names were not there (some had my husband's name, and the others had my name on it), so we told her that the utility companies don't put two names on the bill, it is one name primary and the other one authorized (not shown on the bill). The IO then told us that she saw other people that had both names on it. So my husband just said that probably some utility companies put two names on it and the other ones don't. So she just kept the copies that had both of our names on it and joint account bank statement. She asked if we filed joint taxes (we didn't).

Then she asked to see pictures. I presented her with our Wedding Picture Book (about 100 pictures) and also another album that had pictures of us throughout the relationship (about 60 pictures). So she quickly skipped through it and I offered that she is welcome to keep any pictures that she wants, so she kept the whole bunch of the extra pictures that I had from our wedding.

Then she asked me how was I able to open a bank account with no SSN, so I told her the story. And then she started typing something on the computer and then printed a paper. I couldn't really see what was written in there but I just saw "Congratulations" and I knew that we were approved. The IO then went to make extra copies of the approval letter and when she came back she said that we were approved and told us about the next step of the condition removal process.

So I would say our interview was about 15-20 minutes and we were out of the building by 10AM.

So YEY! My hubby and I are so happy and I feel like a stone has been lifted off of me :D

So good luck to everyone else who is waiting :)

Congrtas!

I will have my interview also on tue (may 25). I really appreciate your post. Thanks.

Till the next journey begins.

;)

Hey guys... we had our AOS interview today, so I just wanted to post my experience....

We had our interview at 2:30 at the Bloomington, MN USCIS office. We were called around 2:40 and me and my husband both got up, but the IO said that he wanted to first talk to my husband alone and then me.... it kinda took me by surprise since I was expecting both of us to be interviewed together. Anyway my husband went in first and the IO asked him a bunch of questions about our relationship. Then the IO came out and I went in with him. He made me take the oath. He asked me the same questions that he asked my husband and then put a tick against each when our answers matched. The questions were - When and how did you meet, what did you do on your first date (I told him we went to see Quantum of Solace, asked me if I liked it, I said yeah it was fine, he laughed and said my husband said I didn't like it too much ;) ), do you have any pets, do you like cats or dogs, where and when did he propose, where did we get married, name of the wedding chapel, where did we stay when we got married, when I moved in with him etc..... All our answers matched (except the Quantum of Solace one :) ). He then asked for a photocopy of the rental agreement, any utility bills we had, and I handed over two joint account statements and an email from our energy company stating that we were both on the account. He then asked me all the have you ever been arrested etc. questions and I said No to all of those..... he then asked for my passport, asked me when I came to US, last time I entered US and then said that he will APPROVE the I-130 and I-485 and that we should receive an approval letter and the Green card in the mail in 3 weeks or so.... I was so ecstatic :D .. He then went on explaining about removal of conditions.

All in all it was a breeze... He didn't ask to see any photos (Even though I didn't submit any with out original AOS package) , cards, pay stubs, our marriage or birth certificates, or any photocopies of docs that were originally submitted. He was pretty chatty with my husband and said that since we only married in Feb we probably don't have any bills or bank statements and my husband said no, actually my wife has them and he was quite surprised. The IO guy was very nice and easy to talk to. The only question I have is that he didn't ask for my I-94, I read here that they generally take your I-94 and then send you the approval and GC in the mail. Anyone have any ideas about that?

Hope all you guys have a great interview too..... All the best!!! Now I'll have a GREAT weekend :D

I'm also just praying for that stupid EAD at least. Need to go to work so bad. I feel like an idiot waiting for an interview letter 35 days. And who knows when the heck will it come. When did you get your last update on their website? You are the only one who I can relate to. :star:

Yay! I hope my IO is also nice, interview's couple of weeks away! So excited and anxious!

Just curious... I was asked by my lawyer to make copies of tons of stuff... did you have to surrender some stuff to the IO?
