Timeline

So our inbterview was at 2:15 pm on July 14th. We arrived downtown around 1:30 and parked in Horten plaza. I recommend this as do many becaus you get 3 hours free and can validate a a machine in the mall. We walked over to front street and proceeded throguh the security checks. Once insode, we found the interview office. It reminded me of the social security office. There are a few windows at in the front. One man took our appointment letter and we sat in the chairs and waited. there were other people there but only maybe 2 other couples. the rest were families or individuals.

My husband and I just sat in the lobby chatting, laughing and watching the people pass by out the window. He had to use the bathroom so he left for a few mintues. When he came back we waited about 5 minutes longer and an officer came to great us. Its funny because he came right up to us and said,"Mr.and Mrs. Asiedu?" We were like yes and he asked us to follow him through. We went to his cubicle and were sworn in.

He was friendly and funny. he verified our address, names and marriage status before we got married. he asked us how we met and asked to see the wedding photos. then he asked if i had any family in Ghana and I said not that I know of and he was like you never know maybe in your ancestery. We laughed a little and he gave us a slip that said to lift consition in 2 years. Then he asked to keep some wedding pics and said he was putting through for approval!

I went to Social Security office to change my name again with my green card and my card was not verifying again! I'm not in SAVE database! SOOOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!

That's why the whole Department of Homeland Security could evaporate

by the actions of "Q" in Star Trek and the security of our country

would not be impacted one bit...one hand still does not know

what the other is doing.

Sorry, but i'm forced to hate you a little more today. Still no GC. I honestly don't mind too much but I want it for a couple of reasons:

1. I can start planning "2 years minus 90 days" for when to file ROC

2. I know the mailman didn't steal it

3. NO MORE USCIS FOR JUST UNDER TWO YEARS!!!

Yeah.. stupid USPS.. Saturday better be my day or ... or... i'll wait till monday! So ner!

 I have a niiiiice view from my living room to the mail box, my husband calls me "mailman stalker".

I hope you get it soon! I know the feeling! I am more relaxed for this second part, but was going up the walls while still waiting for stuff in Brazil!

And congrats everyone who got their GCs and EADs

Okay Giggles. You can breathe again. I received my GC on Saturday  So no more need to hate you. :D I'm pretty pleased with the pic. For some reason it looks better on the GC than it did on the EAD... oh well :D

Out of interest.. what was the date on your card? Mine's "1st July 2010" but I wasn't notified of approval till 6th July. I mean I don't mind :P but I found it interesting :D The date for ROC works out well too. I can send my ROC docs after my mum's bday in April 2012 (she's April 3rd) so I'm unlikely to forget that date...

I've gotta scan my card shortly. I don't wanna carry it around with me lest it gets stolen and i was told carrying a photocopy if it is fine (as long as the original's not too far away)

Anywho... WOOT!

 Glad you don't hate me anymore and that you got your GC :) The date on mine is 30th of June and I also only got the notification on 6th of July.

I didn't know you could carry around a photocopy of the GC. I'm glad you mentioned that because I wasn't too keen on always carrying around the original.

Yep, just under the wire - I sent the K-1 Aug. 24 and the NOA1 was on Aug. 27.

She had a few minor operations after arriving, so we were a little late in submitting

the AOS. If we had submitted the application earlier, who knows? Still, on or around

the 1-year anniversary is a fairly good track record.

Thanks
