Here is my experience for the Interview:

My wife and I arrived at 10:15 and we forgot our mobiles with us, so I had to leave the building and go back to the parking lot and leave the mobiles in the car... We waited like 10 minutes (my appointment was at 10:45a.m. we were called at 10:55). The officer that interviewed us was like in his late 50s...He was so nice, he just asked me about the information on my I 485, very quickly, and then asked my wife (US citizen) how we met...And very quickly he asked for pictures...At my surprise, when he saw that we met 14 years ago, in Spain, he was really amazed. Then he saw other pictures of us in Italy, then in Mexico, and more in USA, he was like" :wow: He didn't ask any more questions, and said that I was approved and that I shall receive my GC in mail in 2 weeks. That's when I asked him if it is possible to have the I 551 stamp on my passport. He said that they don't give it anymore. I explained to him that I would like to travel tomorrow, and have already my ticket. So, he looked at us and smiled  and said; OK.,... :D I was so happy  So he stamped my passport, took my AP document, and told me to keep my EAD for souvenir... The whole interview took like 15 to 20 minutes...It was a great experience, he never asked for other evidence like joint account, bills, utilities... nothing of that... the pictures were a GREAT EVIDENCE for him... Immediately after that, we went to Social Security for my SSN (CARD) and I'll get it in the mail in 2 weeks (I think together with the Green Card)...

Big Celebration right now with my wife... Good luck for everybody here... God Bless you!!!!

I went to Social Security office to change my name again with my green card and my card was not verifying again! I'm not in SAVE database! SOOOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!

So you already have a SSN? My EAD should be arriving in the next weeks and I am in doubt: do I need the GC to change the name and remove the "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION"? Is is the EAD enough to do a single travel for name change and have the SSN card "authorized to work"?

Btw, when I did my SSN, was before my marriage. My name was still not in the system, but they sent my application anyway, which only took much longer then normal, but at least I didn't have to go there all the time. Maybe if you ask if they could do something like that? I did it in Oklahoma.

Yes, I have SSN already, I just need it changed to my married name. You need to have your green card to change DHS work authorization, but EAD should work to change your name, in theory. It didn't work for me because it wasn't verifying. Basically, nothing is verifying for me. I've sent two applications to change my name, and it's been months and nothing. THat's why I said today that I don't want to send another application, because it will take at least a month to come back. Instead I'll wait a week or two and then go back and see if I'm in the system then.

Blah, that sucks. My SSN application took a month, but felt much longer. Hope they catch up and take care of yours soon. Personally, I can't wait until I have a normal ID and don't need to carry the passport around anymore, but they won't give a state ID to a K-1 here, so I need the GC :(
