Im so excited and blessed to be in this situation, as bad as it is. We're gonna be just fine

Thanks Vanessa  . Well he lost it whilst at work, then he returned to skim his office and still couldnt find it. I hope someone finds it and return it as they all know his ring because of its design- and our names were engraved in it...

Timeline

Just got back from the beach trip.

We had our interview on Wednesday. It was scheduled for 10:30, but we arrived about 9:30. We had to travel a little over an hour and didn't want to take any chances we'd be late. By the time we got there, we both needed to use the bathroom. The only way to go to the bathroom is to go through security at USCIS, so we thought we'd give it a try to go in early. No problem.

My husband, the immigrant, went to the bathroom as I collected our things from security. The security guard asked to see our interview letter and told me to put it in the slot on the door to the offices. I did so and then waited for my husband to come back so he could watch our stuff while I went to the bathroom, otherwise, I'd have to bring it with me and then pass it through security again. As I was coming back through the metal detector, they called my husband's name. That must have been about 10:00.

The officer asked our names before she admitted us into the office area. She introduced herself and led us to her office. She told us to remain standing and then had us take an oath to tell the truth. She told us to sit and she pulled out our file.

The officer was a young woman. My first thought was that she was so young that she must be a junior officer and she would not be able to give us a final decision. I was a little disappointed, but still hopeful.

She started with the basic questions about my husband's name, date of birth, etc. She asked to see our ids and then asked where we met. I let my husband tell that story.

She was very nice, but not overly friendly. She was very professional. She didn't let it go with just the basic questions. She asked some questions about our specific situation. We were both very impressed by her detailed knowledge of our case. As I've alluded to before, after a couple of years of living together abroad after we were married, we lived in different countries for a while due to work and the process. This was the only aspect of our case that I thought might be a cause for concern, so when she started asking questions about it, I worried a little. I had sent in a timeline of our relationship explaining the time apart. I'm glad I did that. She asked clarifying questions about that time.

After about 15 minutes of questions including the "Are you a terrorist?" questions, she asked if my husband had received his EAD. He had not as of that morning. She said, "At this point, you'll probably get your residency before your work authorization." That's when we knew he was approved.

This has been a very stressful experience, but looking back from this vantage point, it has been remarkably easy. We are so happy we went with the AOS.

Good luck, everyone.

Three more years before we file for naturalization!

Received my interview letter in the mail today! I'm so nervous! My biggest job this month is compiling EVERYTHING I could possibly need. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to bring? Are financial records more important than photos for example?

I have been calling for hours and that 800 number is a joke!! I tried every possibility and at the time you need the choice to speak to a rep the machine says "If you need further assistance please call to talk to a immi service representative between 8 to 6 (some says 9 to 9 or 9 to 6) Monday to Friday.. and I am like "isn't what I am DOING right now? I cried... I was two hours.. Hubby was laughing... I wanted to kill him!! I just end up eating ice cream and getting a cigarette... after I quit for almost three months... I made another infopass for tomorrow... I have not plane time for my husband yet and the infopass is a 1.45 pm... I hope his plane is latter than that...

I will drive them crazy with infopass until they just send my appointment... We are persons!! We have lives!! We have projects and plans and goals!! They can't just go on like this playing around!! I got my interview!! It is not that I am asking for something out of the box.. Just give me a date... They have 48 infopass appointments daily... how hard can be to put an interview in there?

Mad.. mad and mad... I am totally thinking going back home and start all again from there... I am just tired and It feels like they really don't care... When they want they do it.. because my AP was done in 6 days!! 6!! And a dirty move... because I cannot even use it!! Why they did send it for?

Sorry... I am a hater today... :(
