They just choose to do all this on our time... Anyone job-hunting yet?

I want to start job hunting but I'm worried that I'll get a call back and I don't have my EAD card yet.

Tomorrow (May 27th) I'll be doing my biometrics for both AOS and EAD, and got and email today saying that my AOS got transfered to California :)

Edit: On the job hunting: I did it once I got here out of curiosity, and found this AWESOME one that I could not apply for since I had no authotization... I recommend you don't go look for it, enjoy some forced vacations!

Good luck for biometrics!!

Ditto on the job hunt 'cause I had the EXACT same thing happen to me. Job I wanted, was qualified for, good benefits, paid well and not too far away... no EAD. bummer! Not worth it trust me. I only looked so I had an idea of what sort of income range I was looking at.. still killed me to see a perfect opportunity (not necessarily perfect place to work :P) and I couldn't even put my name in the running.. /sigh

Sometimes you get lucky and find employers that are willing to wait. That's what happened to me, although I still have no EAD (might as well wait for the GC since the interview is in 2 weeks!) so who knows if in the end the employer is still ok with me starting at the end of June(hopefully!). I was here on a j1 visa before, so I made lots of contacts, and my field is pretty small so it is a little hard for employers to find good candidates-- especially if they seek for bilingual ones like in my case and VJers are the best at that, right? ;)

Anyways, all this just to say sometimes it's a bummer to find something and not be able to apply, but on the other hand as Vanessa was saying, you at least get an idea of what's out there. Also, sometimes it takes a bit for employers to actually make a decision on a new employee, so if you think you are relatively close to EAD, why not give it a shot?

Anyways, good luck to all and I hope we all get fast approvals! :star:

Biometrics was nice and easy yesterday (Oklahoma City). Now back to my "vacations" ;)

Edit: And I just checked USCIS website and there is an "update" with today's date.

I was wondering if you had any touches the last couple of days too. I'd feel the same way if I were you, hopefully you'll get a touch today. Maybe they are getting ready to send me an RFE.....but I hope not. Anyway, I got anther touch today  Maybe they are trying to make up for the 8 weeks my file for my K-1 visa went MIA after it was approved. Did you get any touches today Vanessa?
