Hi everyone... little late to the party but I'm an April filer too :)

I did early biometrics (walk-in) hoping it would speed things along, but my case hasn't been touched since!

I'm glad I have somewhere to compare my progress now... I'm incredibly anxious and nervous about *everything*, so this may calm me down a bit :)

Biometrics is done! :) We went this morning to the ASC in Alexandria, VA. USCIS website says military don't need an appointment so I took my husband in his uniform as a back up in case they didn't allow walk-ins. It took a little longer than it should have because when they brought up my file on the computer it still had the wrong A number. We then had to go to the supervisors office so he could investigate. Anyway, he told me it had been corrected and the lady doing my biometrics could just overwrite the wrong A number. Yay....I'm glad that's done now :)

Congrats! good.gif

I had my walk in biometrics done today, which is scheduled on May 19, 2010. We went there at around 8:15 am and was told that they only accept walk-in every Wednesday, and should have called for appointment. The officer ask me why I'm not doing it on my appointment date, and I simply answered that I can't drive and my husband have time today to accompany me. She was strict but gracious enough to accommodate me.

Congrats!! That's was nice of them :) YAY!

My case.... nothing's happened since the 3rd.. that's like 3 days!! and nothing's changed since. I'm hoping it's my EAD in the mail... I can hope right? lol.

Congrats to everyone that's had some movement and commiserations to those that are just wait wait waiting... you'd think after the visa process I'd be more patient than this but I think that was 'cause I was actually working and had something to do all day...

After I had my biometrics, I checked my case online to see if it was "touched" already    . My husband said I was too excited, I should wait for at least a day since they might be uploading it to their system. I'm hoping for my EAD too and start working... I hope we could hear some good news soon. I'm lurking at March 2010 filer's thread and some of them are receiving their appointment for interview.

Hello guys!!

I saw that some confused regarding threads. :star:

Here is the thread for everyone who is adjusting from tourist, student etc visas and in U.S.:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/249837-april-2010-filers/page__st__390

Vanessa&Tony perfectly explained the differences in threads. Thank you!

I wish you all an an easy journey and fast approvals!! (F)

They are the same and yet different in important ways.

I assume you're talking about the AOS from student etc April thread.

Basically, when a K1 files AOS, they've already been through an interview process so a lot of K1's get AOS approved without interview. They've already done their medical and in most cases only need a vaccination section of the 693 filled out. They also don't need to send ANY relationship evidence with their documents, the way they complete the documents (i.e. what you write on it is different) and if a K1s AOS is denied they can appeal... the others cannot.

The other ones, they have to file an I-130. There's higher fees, they will more often than not have to have an interview. They will need to complete a FULL medical. They will need to submit relationship evidence with the initial packet (the i-130 needs it). Their RFE's could be about the AOS part, or they could be about the I-130 parts. And as i said above, they usually cannot appeal a denial.

They are the same "more or less" but I believe merging the two threads could cause confusion when people ask questions that the other "group" didn't have to do.. among other reasons.

You have to log in. You should only get a text/email when the case status has updated... doesn't stop me checking every day "just in case" :P

Grats! Ahhh walk-ins. i'm so glad they allow them. I don't think I could have handled 3 weeks of doing NOTHING just because.. esp now that I went in there and saw there was NO-ONE waiting!
