We got a NOA in the mail today. Stating:

" This is the letter to advise you that in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing:

California Service Center. 2nd Flr. 24000 Avia rd. Laguna Niguel, CA 96207-0111"

What does this mean? We already have the Biometrics appointment scheduled on the 13th.

DO i start to worry now?

No pretty much it just means they think they can do AOS for green card without interview. Nothing to worry about.

When you go it (or at least when I did) she asked me to check the information on the screen. Mention the fact your A number is wrong. Bring with you the evidence of that, and the evidence that you tried to change it and maybe she can do it for you (or put a note on the file or something).

Good luck and congrats!! I got a touch on my AOS and EAD today. I'm sure it's just them processing biometrics but it's still good to see SOMETHING happening :D

My biometrics letter was dated the 27th and on the 28th I recieved the email from USCIS saying that they had corrected the error. I'll print the email and take it with me just in case I need it :)

I recieved my biometrics appointment letter today. Yay! I'm going to attempt a walk-in at Alexandria this week hopefully. The A number on my letter is still wrong....I hope this doesn't cause any issues

Do your A#'s on all your NOA1 notices for AOS match the number on your I-94?

My wife's last name was misspelled on the I-94 and we had to go to the JFK

"Deferred Inspections Unit" to get that changed.

I saw that they acknowledged their mistake to you in an email so that should make the biometrics go OK.

It sounds very unsettling how such a mistake could be made with all the computing power they have.

In my wife's case it wasn't a computer but just the IO that couldn't read her passport (human error).

Now if we could eliminate all the humans in this process...headbonk.gif

No they don't all match. The A number on the NOA's for EAD and AP were both correct but AOS was wrong. I called USCIS and they said they would fix the error.....hopefully everything will be ok now :)

so thats means you dont need to go to the interview anymore right?

That sounds great to me, I hear the California one processes things faster and without interview You get your green card faster. I wonder how they make that decisions, but sounds good 2 me! ;):D

Not always but the majority of the time yes. There have been a few people who after the CSC transfer have still received a letter later saying their file had been transferred to the office in their area in order for them to have an interview. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen.

So what is a time line from here on? How long does it take without interview to get to the end?

You are right Vanessa. Even though my case was transferred, I will be prepared for an interview, you never know!

I am excited for the fact that my case is moving and hopefully it will keep like that because I have read that sometimes the CSC transfer slower the process.

Best of luck to all April Filers!! ;)
