Curious to see if they let you walk in, hope they do. I am in New York too. Where is your Biometrics Center?

http://www.google.co...q=246+n&gs_rfai=

246 North Ave. New Rochelle, NY

If you zoom down to street view, they don't show the actual building at first but you can

mouse around to nail it down (it's to the left of the HSBC bank and it's a street-level storefront

operation).

On first view the Google street view shows the

"Vinnel Corporation" building which is NOT that

actual address. I got confused by that at first when

I drove there to confirm the location on the weekend.

Got my biometrics letter(s) today (two copies of the EXACT same letter)!! My biometrics isn't for 3 weeks though, so I'm about to call (if I can find a damn phone number) and find out if they'll let me do a walk-in in which case we'll go this friday (it's a 3 hour drive one way). I just can't be bothered waiting THREE WEEKS for something for no reason... it makes no sense really...

I'll let you all know how I go.

I'm really impressed with how quickly they sent it though... I only got my NOA1's dated 20 April and the biometrics are dated 23 April !! Very nice 3 day turnaround.. now to work on this appt date :D

**Edit - okay. I should be a detective. I located the number (mwah hahahahaaa) and spoke to a lady there who told me that they prefer that you change the appointment but acknowledged that sometimes they allow walk-ins. She said worst case scenario she would ask that I wait till the end of the day (if it's a busy day) but that she would still do me that day. That makes me happy. I didn't want to try and organise a day off for Tony who's trying to change jobs at the moment (so who knows how hard that will be) and now it gives me something to do this Friday!! Woot woot :D

That sounds great! I have a feeling that they don't allow walk-ins in New York City no0pb.gif

Successful BIOMETRICS walk-in post mortem:

The "Application Support Center" at 246 North Ave., New Rochelle had a staff of about 4

and was a street-level very small operation. My wife went there at around 2 PM on a

Wednesday, which I felt was sufficiently far from Monday (when there might be a flood

of customers as they are closed on the weekend) and also past the morning and noon

rushes because some folks want to be first in line or have the convenience of a lunch-break visit.

There were very few ahead of her and she was taken without any objections.

She liked the staff (the guy who processed her was excited about his upcoming first visit to Thailand!)

and gave them an excellent ratingsmile.gif

I don't know anything about the chance of a successful walk-in in Manhattan, but try to avoid

the more crowded days & times. Another poster said she had good luck going Friday afternoon.

To Moroccogirl:

Who says you have to go to the Manhattan office?

Isn't a walk-in a walk-in anywhere?

Don't they provide the same services?

Wouldn't you be doing the Manhattan staff a service by going to a less-frequently used center?

Q-Did anyone go to a service center other than the one they were invited to?

Hey everyone, just wanted to share some good news with all. We set a infopass appointment for this morning to see if the AP could be expedited. Rosemarie was granted her AP on the spot. They are very reasonable if you are prepared, have a valid reason for the expedite and have documentation supporting the reason given.

Hey - our financial circumstances have changed this year so if i'm filing my AOS with a joint/co sponsor do they just need to fill out the I-864 form or are other documents required???

Also, i don't really understand why an affidavit of support is needed AGAIN for AOS as it was done prior to me entering the country and getting married?!

Hey - our financial circumstances have changed this year so if i'm filing my AOS with a joint/co sponsor do they just need to fill out the I-864 form or are other documents required??? If there is a co-sponsor, both the original sponsor and the co-sponsor will EACH have to fill out a affidavit I-864 and EACH will have to provide supporting documentation.

They also need to provide you with proof of their citizenship (copy of passport/birth certificate), and proof of sponsorship: Tax returns, W-2s, 1099 schedule, employemnt letter, pay stubs; basically everything that would be required from the original sponsor.

Also, i don't really understand why an affidavit of support is needed AGAIN for AOS as it was done prior to me entering the country and getting married?! Well this is needed as it is another process different from the K-1 and requires different documentation. As you mentioned, financial situations can change and the USCIS is aware of this, thus they require more proof that you'll be taken care of, and not intend on living off government benefits and food stamps.

Yeah our checks has already been cashed. I'm not expecting any mails soon since we are not in US mainland. Being so far are causing too much delay, but this touches really make me curious.

If you dont mind me asking, where do u live? that could be another reason for the delay.
