I love putting the cart before the horse (heck we just got the NOA1) but I am getting up there in age and a person needs to think of their options...

After hundreds of hours of talking with my love, we have covered many subjects as we have gotten to know each other. One of our conversations revolves around where we would retire. She is from the far north of the Phils and has a great established family there. I live in Minnesota where it is very cold in the winter and I don't have a large family.

I love the thought of living out our lives together on a quiet beach and just watching the sunset and maybe occaisionally watching the sunrise. Financially if things go as planned we should be able to make this dream come true.

Is there anyone else that is contemplating something like this???

Yes...we have given it some thought....I am already retired....we have a home here in San Diego area....so we are thinking about having a house there...and keeping this one...spending most of the year there....but coming back if one of us gets really ill and need better medical care...than what we might be able to receive in the PHils....but where ever we spend our remaining days...sitting on a beach watching a sunset...and just taken it easy...is some thing I definitely want to do....

Think it over! It's not all "quiet beach" and "watching the sunset".

Financially speaking, if you plan on retiring in the PI and perhaps buy land and especially build a home, don’t give your money to anyone but the contractor and you better be living in the PI at the time of construction to keep an eye on were your money is really going!
