Has any one travelled to Hawaii on a K1 visa for their honeymoon? My fiancé and I are planning on Hawaii for our honeymoon but we wondered if anyone had done this previously?

Hopefully I will be arriving in the US April 29th and we get married June 12th. Then from the 14th - 20th we plan on travelling to Hawaii for our honeymoon.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Rhys

Domestic travel is safe. My husband and I flew to Orlando two days after I arrived at LAX last year. He wasn't my husband yet back then. :P They just asked me to show a valid ID at the airport just like everyone else has to. I used my passport.

Have fun both of you!

You should fly straight there.

If you go by boat it won't work, since you cross into international waters and back into the US.

But I'm sure you're taking a plane.

I have been to Hawaii five times. I live in Northern California so it is a fairly easy location to get to, but it is still five to six hour flights depending on the jet stream.

All of Hawaii is expensive. Just prepare yourself for that now. After all, it is your honeymoon so go ahead and spend the money. However, if you are spending Pounds Sterling or GBP, maybe it is a little less expensive. LOL!!!

I have been to (the island of) Kauai three times, Hawaii once and Maui once. I have never stayed on Oahu more than to change airplanes. Nowadays you don't even need to go through Oahu unless you want to stay there. There are many direct flights to Kona, Maui and Kauai from San Francisco, Los Angeles and maybe even Seattle.

My favorite island is Kauai, the garden island. If you are younger and like nightlife, then maybe Oahu is more to your tastes.

If you like to spend money, then Maui is the place to go. I have friends here at the office that swear by Maui. Many people recommend renting a condo rather than using a hotel room. The condos come with a kitchen and give you the option to save big money by preparing simple fresh fruit breakfasts, and other meals, etc... Especially good idea if you have children.

There is a lot I have learned about Hawaii over the years. It can take a while to discover your favorite island, restaurants, activities, etc...

Do some reading and studying on your own. Then ask some more specific questions later. There is no immigration check from anywhere in the USA to Hawaii so a lack of AP is not a problem.

Good luck

Hello girl... I dont know with your visa but you CAN'T go if you dont have a status... Puerto Rico and Hawaii ask for passport when you re-enter now... My husband travels for work many times a year and he told me they asked for his passport from PR and Hawaii the last time he came back (around July and November last year). You can go all around 48 states here with any photo id like, your passport, but no PR and Hawaii.

You should check your particulary case because you do have a Visa so maybe it counts :).

I've been in Hawaii twice... Maui is my island... Kaanapali is beautiful too... It is expensive :)... I got a condo thesecond time and is way more comfortable... The only think that wasn't good for me was the restaurants and little dancing clubs... They closeto early!! Im from argentina and i like Ibiza nights :)...

My recommendation (i learned from the first trip) Wake up very early (6am) and go to bed early too... There is a lot to do and a lot to see... You should prepare a second weddi g for you a new hubby over there too... It is a beautiful memory andis not expensive... You can ask at the hotel and they set everything in a day...

You are 6 days away!!! Another recommendation... Take lots and lots of pictures at your wedding and reception.. You are so nervous that day that you will forget a lot of things.. Believe me... Been there done that...

Love

If you don't know, then don't post. The OP's time frame indicates that she'll be within the 90-day validity period of her I-94, and she'll be married within that period. If, before she leaves, she can get a copy of her marriage certificate to carry with her on the trip, so much the better, but it's not crucial.

Puerto Rico is not a state.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
