For those of us who are still using Skype to talk to our honeys. Verizon has about 5 phones that are Skype compatible. A few blackberries, the droid, and I believe another one. Anyway, I bought a droid 3 weeks ago. Skype was not available on it yet. Well, today I downloaded Skype. I called Vika on her cell using Skype from my droid. She then went to her laptop, put on her headphones and called me. SKype to Skype all we want for free. This will also come in handy once she gets here and has to complain to her friends and family about how in Ukraine everything is better. LOL. Now when she is at work, she can call me anytime that she wants. Oh #######. Maybe not a good thing. Just kidding. On a lighter note, I reminded her of the 7 hour time difference and that I need my beauty sleep. Now, she can talk to me without me having to be at her computer or me calling her mobile. Last note. A good friend of mine in Kharkov that I Skyped today also, said that he heard Nokia is coming out with a Skype compatible phone for use in Ukraine. Mobile to mobile free Skype would be cool. Also, the sound quality on my droid was better than my laptop usually is.

I hope this helps some of you out there.

Or you can just download Nimbuzz. It incorporates skype, google talk, msn, yahoo, icq and everything else you can imagine. And use that for calls.

Also, it's not really free, considering you have to pay for an unlimited data plan.

If you own one of those type of phones, you usually already have that data plan.

That's true, it's built into the plan for those phones. However, if you wanna get that type of phone in Russia or Ukraine, their unlimited data plans are damn expensive.

I have AT&T, and can't change it because my company pays most of the bill. Any solutions there?

Maybe I am operating in the dark ages, but I bought a Skypeout plan and can call Belarus cell phones with it and like other Op mentioned it goes to my spouses cell phone, and then if he is home can choose to call me back on computer for Skype to Skype free calls,

On my end I have a Skpe-in number about 30 bucks a year and it pushes the incoming calls he makes to me on Skype to my cell phone so I am not tethered to the computer.

If you have a computer you leave on all the time you can also get a gadget that lets you install a normal landline phone and use Skype as a home phone as well with the Skype-in number.
