Politics? I mentioned 2 people who are in the news. I don't think their elevators go all the way to the top. I didn't mention anything political about them . You are making it political.

You can't be that naive can you? You make an off handed comment that the president and his wife, whom are highly educated at one of the reputable institutions in the world, are stupid. I simply asked, what would that make you? You seriously want to try to qualify that as not a political pot shot?

Spoken like a true community college dropout. I don't think you quite grasp the concept of making a point. Thus far, you've only managed to make a fool of yourself.

I never expected such a heated debate, but it's my feeling ALL can work,

if supplemented by unconditional love and/or an agreement to abide by

mutually agreed rules.

When you're dating, rules for the relationship are often ignored because the sex is so much fun.

When you get married, if you haven't already set mutual boundaries, those issues loom larger VERY QUICKLY.

They who have degrees from harvard are dumb? What would that make you a pile of dung?
From your riposte, I'll infer that you are humour-challenged (or, more accurately, completely devoid) since you missed Moccasin's sarkiness.

No, I got her meager attempt at a political joke there, just like her other ones. I've seen funny jokes made at politicians expense, hers do not qualify as such. Education is not the only means to qualify someone as smart, nor does it imbue automatic status. However, I think it's fairly easy to draw the conclusion that someone who has graduated from Harvard Law is more intelligent than someone who dropped out of community college.

Natty Bumppo, you should actually search the internet to find out how to make a point. You still haven't come close to making one.

Agreed.

And anyone who thinks going to college means 'regurgitating' information has either never been to college or went to a really crappy one.

There's different ways to measure intelligence. For example, I have a terrible sense of direction compared to my wife, but I can remember what Capt. Kirk said in episode 7 of the original Star Trek series, so "who's the smarty pants, now?"

Depending on the circumstances of your life, there's useful intelligence and then there's useless intelligence.

In my life, a sense of direction is very useful seeing how I need to drive to get to places. In my life, knowing what Captain Kirk said in Episode 7 or knowing what gun is best suited for taking down a black bear is quite useless.

You sound like one of those snobby, elitist professors I had to listen to back in college.

you also need to get out more. maybe in your experiences it's true.

how many people "squeak" by to get their degrees ... lots.

i've worked with too many engineers who didn't even understand beyond technology basics in their professions. being able to simply take raw data and run it through an equation doesn't equate to a good education ... especially if there is no understanding as to how use the solution.

Is graduating magna cum laude "squeaking by"? If so, then I guess you are right about Obama.
