K-3 is "dead". Your option is a spousal immigrant visa (IR1/CR1). The I-130 is all you need to start

Hello Dan Dan take the CR-1 route because it's faster and way less expensive than the K-3, if you look at my timeline, you'll see that it only took my husband NOA2 93 days to be approve which I filed for him in December 09, and I received his approval in March 2010, so I'm praying he receives a May/June interview, let me now if you need any help or if you need me to walk you through the process. FEES: CR-1 $825.00 -VS- K-3 $1200 ans also with the K-3 you will have to adjust his status when he comes to the USA and than wait approx. 3 months for his SS card, but with the CR-1 it's only a couple of weeks and you won't need to AOS.:thumbs::thumbs:

BLESS ME INDEED!!!!

I applied for a K-3 (November 2006). The CR-1 is the way to go. You will have two years of not having to file paperwork. With the K-3, your husband still has to file for a work permit. The only benefit of the K-3 is the fact that it is a multiple entry visa. In other words, no advance parole is required.

I submitted K-3 after my IR1 because there was no cost for the first step and it gave us two applications moving thru the system. The IR1 is moving surpringly fast and I won't waste energy or money on K-3.

As of Feb. 1st, 2010, the NVC stopped processing the I-129F when I-130 & I-129F are approved and received together. Filing the I-129F in pursuit of a K-3 is just a waste of time and energy. Go for the CR-1, same time frame, less expensive, less work.
