Hello N400-ing VJers,

We filed my husband's N400 a few days ago (hurrah!) and are now starting the waiting again. I guess we can say we are truly blessed to get to this stage with no major hiccups in our lives (with the exception of having to live apart from one another in different countries for a while, like so many other VJers). The VJ commmunity has made things so much easier for us. Thank you all for your support and well wishes! And the best to you on your continued visa (and citizenship!) journeys.

My husband will be having his interview in the Minneapolis/St Paul USCIS office (it's actually in Bloomington MN).

Questions:

1. Does anyone have any recent experiences there with N400 interviews? If so, do you care to share how it went?

2. Does anyone know if this office offers same day oath ceremonies? or do you know how often they are offered, like once a week or once a month?

We're anxious to take a trip to Europe sometime soon and would like to avoid having hubby go through applying for a visa for that trip so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all

This is what we were up against with St. Paul, yes its located in Bloomington.

Fortunately for us, I have good ties with Sen. Feingold and live in Wisconsin, and he is on the USCIS finance committee. One call, and three days later, had a special oath ceremony for my wife at the Bloomington office and they were very nice to us. Wasn't sure what to expect.

St. Paul did not have the same day oath ceremony, was against the policy of the office manager. Its been a couple of years for us, so not sure what is going on now, but definitely have your wife ask about the oath ceremony if her application is approved and try to get a commitment from them.

Have odd feelings about the oath ceremony, at her interview, wife read the oath and signed it in front of her IO. The oath ceremony was just a lip sync service plus showing videos on a 27" TV set of Bush and how great America is. And for us, another very long tiring trip. Perhaps someone from our area is more recent. Wife's IO was also a stinker on that utility bill, but we had one from hints of people before us. Yeah, I know its not a requirement.

Greetings,

My wife and I filed N-400 at the same date we had our fingerprint at the same day. We got our interview letters and my interview date is different that my wife's by only one day. Is it possible we go together?

My second question is can I go for interview sooner or later, i.e. if my interview time is 2 pm can I go at 8:00am?
