For September's draw I will also ask everyone to verify their own addresses for me, just to make sure I do have everything correct and updated. I'm surprised about all the ones getting lost in the mail. :(

That's neat that you ordered them online Canadiandggal :) What website did you use?

My August postcard is on its way

. . . and I am another one waiting for my July postcard :(.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

For September's draw I will also ask everyone to verify their own addresses for me, just to make sure I do have everything correct and updated. I'm surprised about all the ones getting lost in the mail. :(

Ashen and Everyone-Yes, my mailing address is still the same as it was before...

Lol..Grant it though, I have 4 different addresses for the same location...which makes it extra confusing (that's another story)...But yes, my mailbox's address is correct....

As for cards getting lost in the mail....Well some of them get lost and re-sent and get there anyways, and some are not sent on time but get there later anyways...

But some of them I think is because of the senders not sending their cards not sending their cards at all...(which is not fine...anyone else want to weigh in on this issue too).....

And on that note..(as I've mentioned before)...

It's not fair that some people get postcards and some people don't, on amy given month....

And this has happened on many times and to many different people too....So it's not some kind of co-incidence here....

So I was thinking again...

What if we have a "three strikes" rule....(or something along those lines)

If a regular sender on the list, without a reasonable excuse, that does not send cards for three months in a row...

Then they are given warning via e-mail, pm, etc...

And then out of the postcard exchange if they don't respond to such..

It's as simple as that....

Again, I would like fairness for everyone and for everyone to send their cards and to receive their cards when they are part of the exchange...

If they are part of the exchange then they should participate.....Or otherwise stay out....

After all, what is a postcard exchange, if people don't receive their cards....Not fair at all...

Any other thoughts, ideas, suggestions on this matter too?....Feel free to post......

Canadiandggal......That is a funny idea....

And if you really want to (as others, such as Kathryn41 did)...Then go for it...send the extra cards.....

But...It's not yours or anyone else's responsiblity to send more than what is on the list....And you shouldn't feel obligated to send such just because some senders are not responsible for their cards.....

You don't have to pick up the slack for those iresponsible individuals.....

My points in saying my previous post.....

Is that people should be responsible if they sign up for something and agree to take part in such....

If they don't want to fully participate by sending their postcards.....

(and by not sending three cards...as I mentioned above as a 'three strikes' rule suggestion...)

Then they should be out of the exchange....

As well, why should those irresponsible individuals have access to private mailing addresses when they don't intend to send anything in return? That's not fair either....

And why should other VJers have to 'pick up the slack' and send extra cards because others aren't responsible?...(now if they want to send extra cards, on their own free will...that's fine....but they shouldn't feel extra burden/obligated to do such just because others are not responsible)

And as I said before.... It's not fair that some people get postcards and some people don't, on amy given month....

And this has happened on many times and to many different people too....

So it's not some kind of co-incidence here....

I would like fairness for everyone and for everyone to send their cards and to receive their cards when they are part of the exchange...

Again, If they are part of the exchange then they should participate.....Or otherwise stay out....

After all, what is a postcard exchange, if people don't receive their cards....Not fair at all...

I would like everyone to have a fun and happy postcard exchange and to get their postcards from their senders...

It's kind of sad and disappointing to see people not receive their cards, because of some irresponsible individuals....

That's my bite/vent.....

Any other ideas/suggestions/etc....

I received my July card today - thank you Kizza! It is a great photo of a snowy hill with four snowy golden retriever dogs around a sign that says 'Caution - Snowcats may be encountered at any time'! hehehe and with cat paw prints around the upper left hand side and border - very cute!

So Kizza, you are now in Colorado? That's great - I've been there on a visit to Manitou Springs and I must say, if I weren't living in Georgia, Colorado Spings/Manitou Springs and area would definitely be my second choice! I hope you're happy in your new home - be sure to go and visit the Garden of the Gods as soon as you can (if you haven't already) - it is spectacular!

Thanks for your really nice comments too :) !

Mine is going out today. Biggest tourist spot near us would, of course, be NYC. No shortage of postcards from there :)

This is the one I am sending this month. I love the park. I would rather spend the day walking through the park than shopping in NYC.

Canadiandggal-Lol..What a co-incidence that you were in Niagara Falls on the same day that we were there for the VJ meetup! Lol...We were on the American side...You were on the Canadian side....

It sure would be funny if we actually "saw" each other over the falls on the same day, at the same moment........

Nevertheless, glad you had a fun weekend in Niagara Falls for your anniversary...Happy Anniversary!

Everyone-

As for my August card....I'm sending it off tomorrow on Monday....:)

For this time around in August, I purchased postcards at a local store, instead of making homemade ones like I did before, as the purchased ones more suited the theme of tourism/vacations....

They didn't have a lot of selection though..But I think the cards that I picked out should be adequate enough...

I figure too....Support the local tourism/stores/shops by buying a postcard! The more that postcards are purchased locally, the more the tourists will come!...

(I will though continue with the homemade postcards for future months/exchanges...As those are more fun to make and send)

So whoever gets my cards should get it by this week....(my guess at Friday the latest).....

One heads west, the other one heads south.....

We'll see who gets theirs first, and who posts about getting it first....;)

And I hope that you all enjoy the August postcards too...

Happy postcarding everyone! :)

That is weird because I sent it out about 2 weeks ago. I'll give it a few more days and if you don't get it, I'll send another one.

Just received it today. Wow that took a long time!

Thanks...that water sure looks inviting in this heat (the humidex is 35C today, ugh)!
