I received my NOA last week and am trying to add it to m online status check. I keep getting an invalid receipt # message. I have verified that it is correct. Does it take time for it to be entered into the USCIS system before I can add it my online account?

For Removing/Lifting Conditions - the NOA/Biometrics Appointment Notice will have a receipt/case number on it that is actually the one you will use for tracking (or if you have to call); you should get this in a few weeks. This number will be different than the one you have now (which won't work now or later).

I have a NOA with an invalid receipt number as well. I did get a second NOA though with an application number that worked.

Did you make sure you entered it in the right format though? (without the dashes?)

Hope it is just a delay and will work next time you try.

The first NOA never works. The second one you'll be receiving, biometrics is the one that can be used to track the status of your application.

My NOA had a few lines in the end of the page saying something like "you will be able to check your status online using case number from your biometric appointment letter." So stop panic, read your NOA letter more carefully, and relax and wait for your biometric letter :)
