I dont know if this info has been posted before, but I do it anyways.

We asked our senators office today if it would be possible for them to speed up the process.

The answer was that if we can provide an extremely good financial reason for that, then they will sent a specific letter to the service center and the service center will then decide if the reasons for that are strong enough or not and if they are strong enough would process faster.

But that is not an option for us, so I guess we will keep on waiting and waiting and waiting..... :crying:

Yes, if you're requesting an "Emergency Expedite" of your K-1 or K-3 visa there has to be an extremely good reason for the expedite. I'm not sure where the "extremely good financial reason" that the senators office stated, there are actually guidelines that outline some of the reasons for an emergency expedite, I'm sure that another member of this excellent site can posts those.

Thanks,

Keith & Xiang

INMO, unfortunately, it wouldn't be worth the effort at this point for anyone affected by IMBRA. By the time they process the expedite hopefully everyone will be approved.

BTW, here are the valid reason for expedite requests (and I suspect they rarely approve them):

Severe financial loss to company or individual.

Extreme emergent situation.

Humanitarian situation.

Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States.

Department of Defense or National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our government.)

USCIS error

Compelling interest of the USCIS.
