I want to thank all Vj members for all their suggestions and contributions during the process of my k-1 visa process.

Please I need your help one more time,

I entered here on k-1 visa 9th june 2006,spent just 2 weeeks with my U.s fiance, but we were not

living together as she wanted it so I cooperated, that is not enough, she kept finding faults and

make my stay hre in the U.S frusting and always saying at any little misunderstanding that she won't marry

meany more.

I and her pastor has tried to make this marriage work but she still insisted not to marry me.

This lady has made things so hard for me since the past 5o days plus i have spent here in U.S.

To summarrize all in short. yesteday, she sAid her decision is she can't marry me.

I have been sponsoring myself since I came here till now and she doesn't care

and I don't have any more money to spend and she has decided not to marry me.

And my return tickets has expired on the 5th July 2006.

Based on the Affidafit of support she sign to take care of me till I start working.

I am frusted right,No money to take care of myself,No return ticket back home.

Please what legal action can I take to sustain myself here and to get ticket fare back home before the

90 days expires.I am really hurting emotionally.

I have left all, my good payed job, home (apartment), all for the U.S and

My usc fiance want to frustrute me.

Can I legally make any sort of claims for losing all for for her intentionally frusting me.

resigning from my work and emotional turture.

Please I will need your valueable suggestions and answerrs to this questions.

Thanx in advance.

I have a friend she is USC. there was a guy that pulled this same ####### on her. Except he came here on some tourist visa. The man showed up on her door steps in the USA. He was demanding he live with her.

The lady is a minister. she told me that unless there was a sign from god she was not gonna live with him or marry him. ultimately what happend was he lived in motel 6 for a little bit, then left back to his country.

the moral of the story is : better get packing and head on out. before you get the old " overstay". the airline can make use of you expire tickets, they will just charge you a fee. if you beg enough they will

force the fare lower.

Your in an unfortunate time now, It only saddens me to read of your concern getting to the U.S. and not hearing you talk about coming to the U.S. to marry your love. God knows all and sees all, and what so ever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Like many have said on here, maybe if your fiance would post; things would be more clearer. The purpose of a K-1 visa is to come and marry your loved one, some people have used marriage as part of paperwork to gain access to the U.S. and coming here and treating the U.S. spouse as such " necessary paperwork to gain U.S. benifits" could it be that she's feeling that way?

I hope that God renders unto you all that you deserve.

Trufully, Karen

Where, Oh, Where is Valentine?:whistle::whistle:

It seems that this guy likes to post all his troubles (allbeit in a very vague way) and then disappear and leave us guessing as to what the truth really is.

Valentine, I'm sorry it didn't work out with your fiance. Lots of advice has been given on how to find a plane ticket and get back to Nigeria. I hope you are able to find a solution and go back before your 90 days are up. If you overstay your 90 days, it will be harder to get future visas and there can be some potential serious consequences for overstaying. My suggestion would be to go back before your 90 days are up and work on rebuilding your life in Nigeria. As for the Affidavit of Support, that is an agreement between your ex-fiance and the U.S. government that you will not become a public charge and seek government assistance. It is NOT an agreement or promise to YOU that she will pay your rent and buy your food. She has no responsibility to support you or help you get back to Nigeria. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Good luck to you.

Well, i have more emphathy for those trying to sympathise with Valentine. the guy needs to pack his bag and head back home. No too way about it. He's told many stories on this forum, that's kind of make it difficult for me to think he's sincere about coming to the us for love and not just his escape to this country while taking advantage of an innocent person.

Valentine if you're reading this, from one naija man to another, make u pack go back go naija. na d kind thing wey u do dey give naija's bad name. how person go file for you, wait so tey only for in come talk say in no go marry you again, if to say u dey trutful from begining, u for don find out say she no be right for u and u no be right for am. if 2 say na about 10 15 yrs ago, i for say make u hang around, but dis country don tight now, and i no know how u fit make am, with no papers or money.

You use the form I-134 for the K-1 filing and form I-864 with the AOS filing. Since they have not married yet this doesn't this post doesn't apply to them. However, it is interesting to note that the immigrant can sue though. I never noticed that before. Thanks for pointing this out.

y would u wanna give the man this kinda information? any blind person can actually see that this guy(valentine) is hiding something...like maybe the truth. and again as the earlier poster said...she didn't marry him so he has no leg to stand on anyway. And also, the sponsor can't be sued unless the beneficiary receives some type of benefits from the govt. Valentine will not be receiving anything from the govt b/c he can't even provide a social security number for himself. It's best he just pack his bags and go on home. No reason to stay here b/c without the benefits (k-1) he will find things really hard for him. And besides, one would think that he wouldn't want to be here without any family anyway since it didn't work out for him with his fiancee.

Perhaps the sponsor can't be sued based on benefits from the government, but that does not mean that the sponsor can't be sued in civil court by the OP for wrongs that he may feel have been done. He may or may not win, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Not every legal dispute in this situation has to involve the I-134 or I-864. People sue each other every day without a support document signed in advance.

Valentine's intentions or behavior with his ex-fiance are none of my business. He asked a simple question, and I answered it. I don't feel one way or the other for him, simply because posts and chats etc. by anyone are hard to assess on an emotional level and determine who is right and who is wrong. I tried to structure my reply to answer the question, rather than get into his emotional issues with his ex-fiance.

I'm not blind, and I don't take offense to that knowing that many here answer with their hearts rather than their heads.

Valentine, Is there a Nigerian Association in your state? I know they have a chapter in many states. Anyway, you may even be able to contact them online. Maybe they can help with advise or information.

 Great Advice JoeJ!!!

These networks are strong, full of resources, and the members are well connected. I think this is your best option for receiving help.
