Hello

I am losing ground trying to find a co-sponsor as almost all my family is dead now. I asked my friends, other family but they seem to be dragging their feet. My 30 year old is willing to help but he just lost his job a year ago and his home due to plant closing so I think he can be of no help right now. My fiance (Filipino) living & working in Hong Kong is trying to help by asking a very distant relitive to co-sponsor (her brother-in-law's wife's family, Chinese American's who lived in the U.S for over 30 years) who live's in California to help with the co-sponsor. They are retired now but 1 was a head nurse and the husband was a U.S forest Ranger. So I am wondering if they do agree to help, will the consulate approve the visa or is this a problem also?

you should be ok with the distant relative, since they are in the USA.

You'll need to provide a letter, as well, from 'them', stating 'how' they know you.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

As Darnell said you ‘should’ be ok, keep in mind it is the totality that counts not just one part of the process!
