Hello...

I'm a newbie here, I've been visiting this site until I decided to become a member...

I have a few questions, please help me with this one, this is regarding the vaccines/shots one needs to get during medical for K1 visa...

I have read the list of shots/vaccines in the US Embassy guide, my question are the following:

Do I have to get all those listed there? I know I have taken a few of those shots in the list before but I can show no record, nor I have access to get my record (it's impossible)...

We have just started the petition, we received NOA1 2nd week of March 2010, I think it would take months as to how long the petition be approved and sent to US embassy Manila, but my fiance wanted me to work on those shots or vaccines needed during medical, could this be possible? or should I just wait til the day I have to go for medical?

what if I am required to get al those, can I opt to just get those at the US during AOS?

please help me with this...thanks a lot...I am trying to find answers about this on the posts, can't find specific similar topic...thank you

Hello and welcome to VJ!

The vaccines are included in the medical exam fee. You don't have to be so concerned right now. St. Luke's will ask about your vaccination history, age, whether you already had chickenpox or not, and other related questions. These will help in determining what shots are for you.

The vaccines will have time intervals. As for my experience at 22 years old, I had MMR, HPV, and Tdap shots in SLMCEC. Right before my AOS, I went to a civil surgeon for the I-693. He didn't give me new shots because according to him, my MMR was complete, HPV was no longer required by the USCIS, and Tdap comes in an interval of 5-10 years.

All the best for the rest of your K1 journey!

Hi....I too have no records of my vacinations so I decided to have all the required vacinations by my local General Practitioner. I have completed all what is required and once I get a date for my medical i will get a copy of what I have had and take with me...I have read that you can wait till your medical but I want things to run smoothly and thought if I have them now it will not casue any more delays.

That's sound advice; however, K1 works differently in each country during the Embassy phase. If she'd get vaccines ahead of her medical exam, that would be like paying double. :star: St. Luke's Medical Center Extension Clinic has the medical exam fee of $ 213.35 (I am uncertain if they have changed that recently) but whether you will take your shots there or not, you will still have to pay the full $ 213.35.

hi! when you said "time intervals", what do u mean by this?

they will give u the shots 1 per hour? 2 per hour? or do u mean the age?

coz if they will need to give me a lot of shots.. wouldn't it need some time to do it all together?

just need to clarify it..

if i do it before the medical exam.. would my medical exam be faster since i dont have to wait for my turn to get the shots?
