We had our I-130 approved on February 22nd, they said that they are scheduling appointments for April. We in the packet that contained the DS-230, I-864, Proof of Relationship, Marriage Certificate, Police Report etc... and it arrived at the embassy on the 26th of February. It´s now been a month and we haven´t heard anything. April is next week.. Is it normal at times? Are there cases in which the DCF is denied? We sent an e-mail on Monday asking if there were any problems but no response. It gets a little suspenseful at times because we are renting an apartment that we have our contract till the 10th of april, and then bills, visiting family all that stuff.... I guess it might be one of those things you play by ear... anyways, if anybody wants to share their experiences or experiences that they have heard that would be wonderful. Thanks!

Pete

1) when you received Packet 3 from the consulate did you need to return the actual documents (police cert, etc.) or just the DS230 and a checklist? There's no instructions to say that the actual documents need to be sent in, just the DS230, the I864 and the checklist (what's the point of just the checklist then).

2) April interviews sound pretty quick (that's only a month from when your I130 was approved). I was under the impression that it takes 4-6 months for an interview from the time your packet is returned.

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

1) Send DS-230 and checklist (they want to know you have, or are getting, the supporting docs).

The I-864 you bring with you to interview.

2) It's pretty all over the place, Montreal isn't as quick as other consulates.

When I got the checklist I thought it meant that you had to send photocopies of whatever was on the checklist. We didnt sent the originals though. The only original we sent was the DS-230. All time lines I´ve seen of Buenos Aires were 6-10 weeks. But From what I read on here it looks like most people get the interview date about a week or 2 after. Thanks for the replies so far though ;)
