Hi there. I'm a 32yo from Texas and a US Citizen. I met my future wife, 25yo, in 9/2005 at work, and we were married in 6/2006 in Texas. She is a EWI 06/2004 from Mexico. She has a daughter who is a US Citizen by birth 10/2004 and we are expecting a child in 1/2007. We went to a counselor to find out the procedure for her to receive her U.S. residency. They seem to want to charge extra money for things we can do ourselves. So, I believe we are going to file the I-130/325A and then the I-129-F by ourselves. But there could be one problem and I have a question related to it. She attempted to enter the US in 05/2004 and was caught. They fingerprinted and photographed her. They then dropped her in a Mexican town and she then entered the US a few days later. She states that she did not sign anything and the officer told her it was not a deportation. Will this effect are chances for residency? How could this show up on the fingerprint check? She was never in trouble in Mexico, and actually has a Law degree and worked as a lawyer in Mexico for a few years. Also, during the 601 waiver period, does she have to stay in Juarez the whole time or can she stay in her home town of Tapachula. Any responses are very appreciated.

I have a feeling she may be "flagged" in the system I am not sure. You can (if possible) file things on your own. But maybe someone with more experience knows about her being denied entry and fingerprinted. That worries me !!

Welcome to VJ, I don't quite know how to answer your question, you may need legal advise on this one, maybe someone more experienced on this forum can help also.....good luck to you

Yeah. It kinda sucks. I was all hyped to start the process and then she told me about being caught before entering. How long before fingerprint results come back?
