Hello,

My stepdaughter will be going back to Colombia for her summer vacation.

She will be going by herself but returning with my wife and I. (We will be going down for the last couple of weeks of her vacation.) She is 17. They have their green cards.

My question is does she need the permission document from her father to Enter the country? I know we need it when she leaves Colombia.

Her flight is with Aires and they told us she needs the document. We called Avianca to see what they said and they said she would not.

Has anyone had experience with this??

Thanks

hi Daniel,

she doesn't need anyone's permission to enter to Colombia, because she is colombian citizen, she will need permission when she leaves Colombia

Don't get it, even though my wife got full custody of her daughter and an apostile kind of notary statement from her ex to relinquish all rights to his daughter, he didn't didn't want to pay child support for her. Still needed his permission from him so his daughter could leave Colombia that he was glad to give for a small fee.

But she couldn't go anyway, her passport expired and the consulate refuse to renew it, we filled out the form, and all he had to do was to sign it and put it in a returned addressed prepaid envelop. Refused to do that without a small fee, like $5,000.00. So had no choice but to wait, if her passport was good, would be a one way trip for her, when she hit 18, that is when all of our problems ended. His actions caused a severed bitterness from his daughter toward him, hope you don't have that problem.

My wife still has to maintain a Colombian passport to visit her mom, even as a USC, but not the same as me, because our place of birth clearly on the passport is different. If from Colombia, have to maintain a Colombian passport to get in, or out.
