Yes this seems to be the best way to go about it. Be prepared to Stay an extra day in Chennai after the interview.

oh yes, we're planning to stick around at least a day or 2 extra, since my folks will also be at the interview and flying out that sunday out of chennai! i guess if we can get the stamped passport with just the copy of the biographic page, then we should be ok. but yea, that totally sucks about your wife having to go pick it up from cochin. she's in kerala, right? what part? my wife also malayali from palakkad/calicut, but now lives in bangalore...bangalore's been a bit on the ok side for when having to deal with all this BS. the bangalore passport office was ok to deal with for the most part (interestingly tho, they never asked her for a name change newspaper ad thing when she went to get a new passport under her new married name; we're now contemplating doing that just to be on the safe side) and she was able to get her local police stattion PCC yesterday w/o too much of a hassle (after paying 1000 rs for it!). hopefully dealing with the bangalore VFS office will also be just as straightforward!

The May interview's are going to be a Breeze. Honestly we have to be one of the most well prepared bunch out on VJ. Sachi's time tested formulas and all the useful lists has got us so well prepared. Its going to be smooth sailing for everyone.

I am getting my pop corn and my recliner ready for the 2nd weeks show. Its going to be an exciting week.

Well... sometimes I freak out a lot!! I mean A LOT!!!! And then I try to breathe and breathe!! hahaha

But seriously, I think if I think too much about the interview I can feel the sweat coming down to my head and my hands cold! haha

I really hope the CO really likes my husband and want to chat ONLY with him, I won't even bother to be ignored! lol

I confess that when I see my ticker going down and the days coming I have butterflies in my stomach, then I try to think positive saying that I AM in control of the situation... I can't let it go into my brain too much! lol

Like Yohino said... deep down I know we all gonna be fine. I just have to keep my mouth shut! When I get nervous I talk like a monkey! The CO will ask me to leave the room! ahaahhahaha

Anyway, all I can say is that I'm fine now and only God knows how its gonna be like next week!

My wife is from Kollam and I am from Kannur. You didn't have to submit your PCC's to NVC?

oh i did - for the NVC, i only submitted the passport PCC, since my wife's passport was issued within the last 6 months (on oct 23rd). so for the NVC, only 1 pCC was submitted as per chennai consulate instructions. however, if your passport is beyond the 6 month issue range (which it now is), then you have to submit both the passport PCC and local police station PCC. we figured that we could take our time with the local police station PCC since we wouldnt need it till the embassy/interview stage. and now we have that too...yea fortunately, NVC actually adhered to the embassy's requirements and didnt RFE us for the 2nd PCC (unlike what they did in SeanJohn's case - poor guy...)

these pcc things are crazy, my wife had to re-apply again for the passport pcc(issued on NOV/2009) since it will be more than 6months old at the time of her interview. ( god knows how long it will take now ) we good with the local police one ( issued in march/2010 )

It says (not sure when it was posted):

speed. This has caused delays in visa printing and affects all applicants in all

visa categories. We are responding to the problem as quickly as possible, and

will print visas and deliver passports as soon as we can. We sincerely apologize

to our visa applicants for any inconvenience or delayed travel. "
