Yeah,it kinda made a dent in the kinda empty (thanks to this journey) pocket.

They wouldn't let us write off the immigration costs so I doubt they'll let us write this off

I might be able to make a claim through my medical insurance though...we'll see!

I have not filed my 2009 taxes but did file an extension

I forgot to print the IV bill receipt and even though the interview letter states it is paid, they also said they wanted proof

and that's it. Also, should my wife bring another DS-230 application? or will they use the one they already have?

I think you are better bringing a proof that you did file for an extension. About the IV bill i don't know if they ask for a receipt, but if you don't have maybe print off a bank statement showing the money was cleared by NVC?

I'm not bringing another DS230. Everyone says they have our files there and there is no need to bring a new one. I might just print a new DS and I-864 in blank, so I can fill it out right there if I need to correct something.

Thankyou all so much for all the well wishes. I still havn't been able to get a full picture of the interview yet. Wife has been busy going to VFS, hotel check outs, train ride back home etc. Plus her cell phone signal is not that great on the train so the call kept dropping off. So will try to put together a brief review based on the bits and pieces that I picked up.

She reached the cosulate around 7.50AM for her 8AM interview. She was called to the first interview window around 9.30AM. She said the Indian lady at her window was really sweet. There was another man at a different window who appeared to be rude and the whole time she was waiting, she was praying not to get him for the prescreen. The lady asked for our interview letter, passport, wedding photos and wedding invitation cards. There were some basic queestions like how did we meet, when did we get married etc.

She was not called in for the interview untill around 11.30 so it was kind of a long wait. She was interviewed by a woman of East Asian decent. She was very polite and friendly. The whole interview lasted 10-15 minutes. Again it was all basic questions like. When did we meet, who made the first contact, How often does your husband visit, have we travelled together. What she plans to do once in US. I will post the exact questions later. They did not ask for any additional proof of relationship or a single document that we carried. The consular never asked about the 2009 tax returns. Wife was out of the cosulate by around 12PM.

Wife was not able to pick up the passport from VFS the same day so it will be mailed to her. All in all I think except for the long wait time it was pretty straightforward and an easy interview.

Alright folks..............Lets get this party started for May....... My girl is Approved . Details to follow. Didn't really get a chance to get all the info. But stay tuned. Finally our journey is over and VJ'ers you guys are a rare bunch and thankyou all for the support. I am going to savor the moment and check back soon.
